Love is in the air...

Hello Everyone,

I was given a chipboard purse from 7 Gypsies, and a package of Bo Bunny Valentines paper to use with it. This is for a local store I do cards and projects for at times. Well, people who know me will know that I was horrified when I saw this stuff!! lol I do CARDS....I rarely ever venture from cards either! lol Anyway, I finally buckled down and started working on it, and I actually enjoyed it! I am going to buy one of these purses and do it with my own style and stamps. It is a bit hard at times to only use products they give you to use! lol

Anyway, here are some pictures of the purse. It has an accordian album in it as well, so I decided to make a calendar out of it. While this isn't exactly my style, I think it's kinda cute.

Thank you so much for stopping by today,

Created Byhand Challenge - Hearts

This is my contribution to the Created Byhand Weekly Challenge! The challenge is Hearts, so I pulled out my heart Nestibilites and used some beautiful patterned paper. The only stamping on this card is the sentiment, from Quietfire Design. I had fun making this card, but almost felt like I was cheating because I hardly did any stamping! Oh well, what can you do....lol

Have a great evening,

Find yourself a cup...

Hi there,

I saw this awesome cup on Catherines blog, and she linked to Fairy Blossoms & Life for the template. So, I thought I would give it a shot. The sentiment is from Quietfire Design. I know this template isn't a tea cup, but use your imagination here! lol I thought it fit anyway! I used some beautiful paper from My Minds Eye. It's a heavier paper and it holds up well for this type of card. The charm is from Hannastamps. I used my Nestibilities to cut the sentiment and layer it.

I am going to stamp a bit tonight. Not sure what though, so hopefully I will have something else to share with you tomorrow!

Have a great evening everyone,

Monday

No one can measure how much a heart can hold...

Morning!

I made this mini starbook a while back, but had to wait for it to be in the Quietfire Newsletter first, before posting to my blog. Inspiration for this book came from
Becca at Amazing Paper Grace. Thank you Becca! I used a combination of Quietfire Design's beautiful calligraphy stamps, and my trusty Nestibilities. You can find instructions on how to make this book here, as well as a supply list.

We are having strange weather here in Nova Scotia. The past few days it has been very cold, at night at times -33 with the wind chill. Then yesterday it started at -18 in the moring, warmed up to about -3 and started snowing, then just after midnight there was a bit of freezing rain, and since about 2 in the morning it's been raining. It's now +6 outside! lol I imagine the roads are a real mess, but I am so happy it's warmed up! lol It is a huge temperature difference in a matter of 24 hours though!
Well, off to finish up a few things, and eat my breaky!
Thank you so much for stopping by today,

Glamour....never goes out of style.

I just received some stamps I bought from Stamp-it! I just love their stamps. This is one of the 3 ladies I bought. She is called Audrey Esq. I didn't want to add much to this card, I wanted it to be more of the elegant side, if you can say bright pink is elegant! lol I stamped her and embossed with black, then coloured in with Copic Markers. All layers are done with Nestibilities. The sentiment is from Art Impressions. Don't you love the black ribbon with black swirls in it? It's my last piece! I need more! Very basic card, but I like the overall look of it....I think! lol

Have a wonderful evening,

Created Byhand Challenge - The word Love

This weeks challenge on Created Byhand is to use the word LOVE on your card. I chose to use a sentiment from Quietfire Design that begins with the word LOVE. This is one of my favorite sentiments. The main image is a photo stamp from Stampsmith, I coloured her in lightly with Tombow markers and a watercolour brush. I used my trusty Nesties to do all the layering on this card. I also used a flourish stamp on the background patterned paper. The flowers are punches and I used Dew Drops in the centers. I haven't done a tall skinny card like this before, and I like the look! I am trying hard to start using some of the fabulous embellishments I have, but tend to hoard! I know you know what I mean! lol

Thank you so much for stopping by,

Created Byhand Weekly Challenge - Flourishes

Last week's challenge at Created Byhand was flourishes. For my card I used one of Quietfire Designs new sentiments! I just love this flourished calligraphy. I also used a paper with flourishes in the background, as well as a small flourished stamp in the corner. I didn't really get the look I was going for in this card. I was trying for something elegant, that you could give on wedding day, but it's just missing something? If you have any suggestions, please leave a comment! I would love to hear your suggestions as how I could finish this card, to give it a more elegant look.

Thanks for stopping by tonight,

Moon Bathing

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted this week because I have been so busy and haven't really had time to stamp. I did make this card, a bit at a time though, and just finished it up tonight. I have been going thru my stamps and there are so many I haven't even inked up yet! Yikes! I am going to try to use some of the things (stamps, papers, ribbons) that I have been hoarding, I think that is my stamping resolution for the year! lol

I have no idea who makes this Asian Lady stamp, but the Cherry Blossom is made by Rubber Stampede. I didn't want to do to much and take away from the lady, so I just stamped and embossed some Cherry Blossoms, and coloured them in with Copic Markers. I coloured the lady's skin and coloured the moon with the silver Spica Pen. I then stamped and embossed another lady, and coloured in her cloak with Copic markers, and went over the flowers and leaves with a clear Spica Pen. It adds such a nice soft touch. I then cut out the cloak including her hair, then layered it over top of the first image. I did colour a bit on the bottom layer as well, because in person the bottom of the cloak is lifted quite a bit and you can see a bit under the layer. The white layer was then layered onto a beautiful piece of black paper that is embossed. If you click to make the picture bigger, you will probably see the paper better.

Well, off to bed for me, I have the remainder of a First Aid course tomorrow for work, oh joy! It was a long and a bit boring day today! lol Hopefully tomorrow is more interesting!

Have a wonderful evening!

My word for 2009

I have seen on a few blogs that people are picking a word for the New Year. I didn't have to think to hard to get my word! lol

HEALTHY

This past year has been a tough one. I have diabetes, and was doing great without insulin, but in the spring my sugars went crazy, and we decided it was time to go on with the insulin. I have been sick on and off all year. I seem to pick up every single cough, cold or flu that makes it rounds. Working at a large store makes it even harder to keep away from sickness, with the staff and customers. You would be amazed at how many sick people go grocery shopping! lol There has not been a month this past year that I haven't gotten sick and missed work. I am so thankful for very understanding management at my store. They don't question me when I am sick, and let me have the time to get better. I think they have gone above and beyond what is required. My husband is amazing and is so good to me. He is patient beyond belief, always there for me in all circumstances. We were married 2 years ago on December 17th, and yes, in sickness and in health. BUT, there seems to be more sickness than health, and he is a real trooper for hanging in there with me! lol SO, this year my word is HEALTHY! I am going to try harder to keep myself healthy. I will eat better ( I do pretty good in this department already), I will eat more on schedule (hard one..lol), and I will excercise more often. If I keep to this plan, I am sure this will be a better year for me, my husband and my work!

Thank you too for hanging in there with me!!!

Sunday

Thinking of you...

Hello again,
What a busy time of year this is...I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season! I made this card on New Years Eve, but didn't have a chance to take a picture of it until now! lol The photostamp image is from The Stampsmith, and it is stamped with Ancient Page chocolate brown, then coloured in with a waterbrush and tombow markers. The sentiment is from Quietfire Design. The patterned paper is some delicious paper I found at the LSS fromMy Minds Eye, and I just love it!!! I used Cherish on this card. The pearls are from Kaisercraft, ribbon from Martha Stewart. Not sure where the charm brad is from though! I am really loving my photostamps lately. I always feel good for some reason when I use them.

Well, I must go stamp some more images! I am trying to get a bunch done, then I can settle in and colour or paint them in! I am getting some Shimmerz Blingz in the mail hopefully tomorrow, and I can't wait to try those on a project!

Have a great evening everyone,
