Quietfire Design meets Cuttlebug

Suzanne at Quietfire Design has such beautiful calligraphy stamps! I just received this one, Home is the heart of life. I just bought a new cuttlebug background, and it's little heart dots! Beautiful, so I had to think up a way to bring these 2 items together. I used the christmas village embossing folder from Cuttlebug as well. I ran it thru the nestabilities first to get my oval, then ran the oval thru with the village folder. Did the same with the sentiment from Quietfire Design. I put it all together and added a beautiful flower, that I have no idea where I bought it! Added stickles and used a Martha Stewart punch for the bottom of the card. I was very happy with how this card turned out. Oh, almost forgot, I used the Martha branch punch as well! Don't you just love her punches?
Thank you for the inspiration Yvonne!

Anyway, I am off to work! Enjoy your day,

Totally Witchin'

I made a dozen cards like this just to give some of the girls at work. I searched the web for vintage Halloween pics, and found this and a few others. The sentiment is from MFT. I also used a little crow rub on from Making Memories. I know it's a simple card, but there were too many to make to spend alot of time on them.

Thanks for stopping by today,

These are too funny!!

I saw this on another Canadian's blog and thought it was too funny not to share with you! I also found another, and I had to laugh, because I have done it before! lol It's been snowing in some parts of Canada, but thankfully it's been rather nice here on the east coast. I am not quite ready for the winter months yet. I do have some cards to share, but waiting for the sun to come up to take pictures!

Have a great day!

The "S" card

LOL...This is my "S" card! S stands for snowflakes, santa, sleds, snowglobes and snowmen. I fell in love with this stamp when I saw it, I just thought it's so simple and elegant. The stamp is from Impression Obsession. If you haven't checked them out lately, you really should! They have some of the MOST beautiful stamps, and they have a ton of new releases as well.

I wanted a vintage, serene type card for this stamp. I stamped and embossed the image with gold embossing powder, then cut it out with the oval Nestabilities. Took and sponge and lightly inked around the image. Then layered on another oval Nestie. Added some ribbon, and some Cuttlebug snowflakes, and pearls in the centers, and the card was done! Oops, almost forgot, I used the Martha Stewart Branch punch and added a few to the ribbon know. It's such a delicate punch, I just love it! I inked around the edges of the card as well. Isn't this paper yummy? It's all from the new Basic Grey line, WASSAIL. This was a super fast card to make, so I think I will be making quite a few more for Christmas giving.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Tuesday

New Blog Look - Last one! lol

Hi there,

Thank you for stopping by today! I was so excited that my awesome bf Flower made me a new blog!! I did like the one I just had, but it seems like everyone was starting to get the backgrounds, and I wanted something in my own colours and taste. Something a bit more personal I guess. So anyway, this is what I came home to today! I just love the soft pink, grey and black together! The leaves are perfect, and OMGOSH, check out that bling??? Now what girl doesn't love bling! lol

I am going to be doing a bit of stamping tonight, so hopefully I will have something to share with you all later!

Thank you again Flower! You are amazing!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Sunday

Quietfire Designs - Ecoline Inks

This is the first time I have really had any kind of success using these inks. All other attempts I think I used the wrong paper. This time I used watercolour paper, and I love how the background turned out. First I stamped some images with versamark and clear embossed. Then I used my teflon sheet, dropped a few dabs of 2 different colours of ecoline ink on it, then sprayed my paper with water using a fine mister. When this was dry I ironed it to take off the embossing powder. I then embossed with black some flourishes. All embossed with black the sentiment. The snowflakes were done with the cuttlebug, and Dewdrops were added for interest. Not exactly sure how I feel about this card. It seems a bit busy for me. But it's done, and it's staying this way! lol

The flourishes, sentiment and ecoline inks are available at Quietfire Design.

Thank you for stopping by!

Feel Better Soon

So many people are sick lately with bad colds and the flu, so I thought I would make a few cards to have on hand. All stamps are from MFT. I just love their stamps and had a blast colouring this in with Copic Markers. I also used my new Martha punch on the bottom, ohhhh it's so pretty! The tag is done with the Nestibilities and Cuttlebug. Prima flowers and dew drops were added at the end. All my pics tonight are dark. Will take different ones tomorrow. Thats what I get trying to take pics at night!

Thanks for stopping by,

Blogger Problems

Well, this is so strange. Last week I noticed that I have word verification on my own posts. I replied to an email saying that my blog is NOT a spam blog. Then they went and blocked my blog so I couldn't post a thing? Now it's back to word verification? Sheesh, well, at least I can post now. I sure hope they get this figured out soon, as the letters you have to verify are sooooo hard to read!!

Has anyone else been having this problem? They keep saying my blog is a spam blog, but it's not! lol

Hopefully I will be back later to post some cards!! Wish me luck with blogger! lol

Thursday

A few Christmas Cards

I hope you are all doing well, and getting some crafty time in! I had a great day stamping, and then I went shopping! lol I hit The Cutting Garden, Photo Memories, and then Michaels. I had a 50% off coupon for M's, and also a gift card from Julie over at Mutch to Stamp. So I picked up one of the new Martha Stewart Edge punches, I LOVE IT! And a cuttlebug snowflake die cut. Then I went thru again with another 50% coupon and got a cute little bee stamp from Stampendous. I have someone in mind for that one. At the Cutting Garden they had the new Basic Grey Itsy stamps, they are really nice, and great price, $7.99. So of course I had to get one set. Then at Photo Memories I managed to get a heart corner punch that I have been wanting, as well as a few pieces of beautiful Bo Bunny p/p! I am so bad.....but I honestly didn't spend much because I used coupons and had a credit at Photo Memories. Gotta love that!

Anyway, one of the stores had asked me to make some store samples for them, using their stamps and papers, and any other supplies. So I played today and dropped them off tonight. These are the cards that I made for them, all using Stampendous stamps.

This snowman was stamped with versafine on white, then I used clear embossing powder to emboss. The image is coloured with Copic Markers, and I used some Martha Stewart Glitter on his hat, pom pom and mit cuffs. I also went over the tree, star, and ornaments with the spica glitter pen. I really like how this card turned out. I used the Nestabilities for all the circles.

The next card turned out pretty bright, but those are the papers I had to use! It is quite cheery though when you see it in person, and full of bling! Same again, stamped with versafine and embossed with clear powder. Coloured with Copics, and tons of Stickles!! I used some of the Hero Arts gemstones, cuttlebug snowflake background and die cut snowflake.

This last card is really like an ornament. It doesn't open. I am not sure about this one though. I spent alot of time colouring in the image, and blending colours, shading, then I decided it needed a bit something else, so I put versamark all over it and poured glittery clear embossing powder over it. It lost alot of the detail, but they seemed to really like it at the store, so who knows? I think it looked much better before...

Thanks so much for stopping by tonight. I hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Monday

Halloween Cards

Evening!

I finally had a chance to use my new MFT stamps! I just love these witches, and had a blast making these cards. They are for a swap on a forum. I made 6 of these, some of each colour combo. I think in the end I prefer the green ones. I paper pieced the dresses, and coloured the rest of the witches and broom with copic markers. I also went over the hat, boots, and black of the socks with a black spica glitter pen. They shimmer nicely in real life. I think my muse just may be back. Even if she just came for a visit, it was nice to have her back for awhile!

Have a great evening!

Quietfire Design Card

Hi again!

This card was done using a Quietfire Design stamp in the center. I saw this technique at a blog called Amazing Paper Grace and knew I had to try it. The center was done using a corner punch, how cool is that! I had fun making this card, but I think it looks a bit plain yet. May add something later!

Thanks for stopping in!

Wednesday

More Vacation Pictures

Here are some pictures of the second week of our vacation with Mom and Dad. We went to Cape Breton, but it was a tiny bit of a rush visit as we had hurricane warnings at home, and Dad and Mom had to chance their flight and it cut their visit 3 days short. We still wanted to go on the Cabot Trail, so we just did an overnight trip! It's beautiful...you really have to see it with your own eyes though, our pictures don't do it any justice!

First stop along the way was the Glenora Distillery. Hmmm....there is a theme happening here...brewery then distillery! lol And I don't even drink! Anyway, it was just so beautiful and serene there. This is a photo of the restaurant part of the compound. I just love the greenery.
The stream in front of the restaurant and behind the distillery.
Inside the distillery.

Bottoms up! lol You would think they would have stopped at one, but, NO! They had to go back for more! lol
Then we got to the town of Cheticamp. We spotted this gorgeous church and had to stop. What a beautiful site.
The organ was amazing, I only wish we could have heard it.
This is a view from the balcony of the church. It is truly breathtaking.

These are pictures from along the Cabot Trail.

We were driving along and suddenly see Mama moose and her baby! I just had to get out of the car and take a picture. I was literally standing just on the other side of the guard rail from them. I was a bit nervous because I know moose do charge. BUT, there were others that climbed over the guard rail to take pics.....a bit crazy I think! lol They are awesome to see that close though!
After driving for 10 hours, we arrived in the quaint town of Baddeck. We had a wonderful evening there. We walked down to the legion, they all had a couple beer, and we all played a bit of pool. Then we went back to our hotel restaurant and enjoyed an exquisite meal with a very talented gentleman playing guitar and singing.
This is the view off our balcony at the hotel.

The restaurant at the hotel.
We then went for a walk and went to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Wow, I never realised how much Mr. Bell had invented, and all that he taught. I was seriously amazed and would love to go back there soon! Below is a picture of the lighthouse in Baddeck. This is the lake that Alexander Graham Bell's airplane first flew over in the dead of winter. I believe it was the first flight in Canada.
Thank you so much for dropping by and sharing this time with me! I just had such a fabulous time. My husband was so patient with all of us, and stopped wherever we wanted. I am very lucky to have him in my life! It was an awesome time for all of us!

Have a great evening!
