Getting back to basics…

I decided to make a couple cards and get back to some basics.  No colouring, just inking and stamping.  I actually had alot of fun making these 2 cards, and will probably try to go back to basics a bit more often.  It’s kind of nice to be able to make a couple quick cards, something I rarely do!  I am one of those people that take FOREVER to make 1 card!  I am sure some of you know what I mean! lol

Anyway, here are the cards.  The main images are from Inkadinkado, as well as the Party stamp.  You light up my life is from Amuse.  All flourishes are from Cornish Heritage Farms.  I just love their stamps.  They are mounted on cling, and stamp so beautifully!  All I did for these is use Rosebud Red and Tangerine Momento inks, inking the whole images with the pink, then going over a few spots with the orange.

I decided to stop by Michael’s tonight, and was so happy to see the new Tim Holtz Visual Artistry line of stamps!  They are exclusive to M’s, and a bit pricey, but when you use a 40% off coupon, it’s definitely worth it!  I was bad and went through 2 different cashiers so I could use 2 coupons and buy 2 sets! lol  Here is the link if you would like to see the new stamps -

Thank you so much for stopping by tonight!

Mr. and Mrs.

Hi there,

This card was done for Photo Memories, using their supplies.  This card and the two above will be my last cards for now, as I have now finished a 6 month term on their design team!  Time for some new people to have a turn.

Mrandmrs [50%]

All stamps are from Inkadinkado.  I stamped and embossed the cake, coloured it in with Copic Markers, then went over most of it with Angelwings Shimmerz.  I did all the layers and the tag with the Nestibilities.  Border strip was cuttlebugged.  I added some Kaisercraft rhinestones on the corners of the cake layer, and a few Dew Drops on the border.  Oh yeah, the flower was also done with the Nesties.  I put a little stickles on the cake stand as well.  Lots of bling on this card!  It was a dreary day even thought it was quite warm today, so I didn’t get a very good picture of this one.

Thank you so much for stopping by, have a wonderful day!

A perfect baby shower gift

Hi there,

I hope everyone is having a great evening and looking forward to a fabulous weekend!

My project today was made a little while back for Quietfire Design.  You can find directions & the template for these shoes here.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I often make the shoes and a matching card as a congratulations when I find out someone is expecting, or as a little something extra for the baby shower.  They are fun and fast to make, so give it a try if you like!

Here is a picture of the back of the shoe.

If you decide to make a pair, come back and post a link so we can all see them!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Unicorns

Good Morning!

Since I am still at home, I have been organizing a bit in my play room.  I came across a box of women stamps that I had tucked away for some reason.  Anyway, I have some gorgeous stamps that I haven’t even used yet, and thought I would make a card with one of them.  I didn’t know where I had gotten it, but alas, I asked my friend Flower and she said she had given it to me.  It’s from Rubber Stamp Ave. if anyone is interested.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Here is a close up so you can see all the shimmer.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

When I stamped this image I was instantly in love with it!  It’s just so dreamy.  I coloured in the image with Copic Markers, then I went over alot of it with Shimmerz.  If you haven’t seen them before, OMGosh, you are in for a treat when you try them.  They are so sparkly, way more so than anything else I have tried.  I used Angelwings so you could see the colour under it.  I added a tiny Swarovski crystal on her forehead just because I thought it should be there! lol  I also coloured my Unicorn in, it just didn’t look right white.  After all it is my fantasy right? lol  I thought the sentiment Dream with your eye wide open, from Quietfire Design was the perfect saying to go with this card.   Then I added some punched flowers and bling from Kaisercraft in the middles.  I used the Martha Stewart punch on the one layer, I just love her border punches!  Urgh, please ignore the folded edge on this card.  It’s Bazzill bling cardstock and even though I used my Scor-pal, it didn’t score nicely.  I will have to cut it off and remount it.  That drives me crazy, so pretend you don’t even it see it ok? lol

Anyway, that is it for now!  I have been busy making other cards and things, but I can’t share them yet as they are for a design team assignment.  I am hoping to get some fun stamping done for no reason today though!

Have a wonderful day everyone,

Created Byhand Weekly Challenge – Blue & Green

The challenge at Created Byhand was to make a card using blue and green.  I chose the blue and green patterned paper from Making Memories, and some coordinating paper from Prism.

cbhgb [50%]

The sentiment used is from Quietfire Design and can be found here.  I used the Nestibilites to do my layers, as well as the butterflies.  I thought a little sparkle on the butterflies would look nice, but, I dont like how it turned out on the blue paper.  I like it much better on the soft green, but I already had the card together, so it is staying as is! lol

Thank you so much for stopping by, and have a wonderful day.

Created Byhand Challenge – Use the word Believe

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Last weeks challenge at Created Byhand was to use the word BELIEVE on a card.  I used a sentiment from Quietfire Design that has the word in it.

The Audrey Hepburn  image is a photostamp from Stampsmith.   I lightly painted in the image in places with a watercolour brush and Tombow Markers.  The papers used are all Basic Grey.  I used black ribbon and Paris Dew Drops to embellish.  I didn’t want to add to much to the card, as I wanted to try to achieve simple and elegant.  Not sure if I did, but I do like the way it turned out.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Sunday

Thank you

I really have so much to be thankful for, especially my friends.  My hubby had to go out of town for work last week, and he didn’t want to leave me at home so sick.  But, it’s his job and he had to go.  Since he has been gone, my girl friends have been taking care of me!  One takes me to my appts, tests and xrays.  Another bought me groceries and came over and even made me soup!  Another brought my tons of throat lozenges and popsicles.  Then I have 2 friends that live a bit further away, but they always phone to check on me, and make me smile when they call!  With the time difference, I don’t get to talk to hubby to much, BUT I do get to talk to all these wonderful ladies!  Urgh…do you think they can put up with me for another month?? lol

Thankyou [50%]

So this is a thank you to all my wonderful friends, thank you so much for being a part of my life.  I treasure each one of you!

I used a new stamp from Stampendous, and the sentiment if from Inkadinkado.  I hadn’t used either stamp yet.  I can’t remember who makes the patterned paper, and I cut the end off!  The little flourish is from a BG stamp set.  The image was coloured in with Copic Markers and clear Atyou Spica pen.  Tons of Prima flowers on this card.  I have been looking at many of the European blogs, and the card makers there use alot of flowers, so I thought I would try my hand at it as well.  Not so sure about mine though…oh well, it’s done!

Something tells me I have many Thank You cards to make!

Thank you again for stopping by this evening!

Here’s the scoop…

How is everyone doing today?  I am still sick at home, and just trying to rest alot.  But, oh my…it’s hard to do!

what'sthescoop [50%]

I dug out one of my MFT stamp sets, and decided to make a card.  I know it’s pretty colourful, but I couldn’t resist after I spotted this BG paper in amongst my mess!  I coloured the image in with Copic Markers.  I used an Atyou Spica Glitter clear pen over the centers of the flowers.  I also did the woman’s shirt, but the glitter pen leaked and tons of the liquid came out.  I couldn’t get it wiped off, so I paper pieced the shirt and used another clear glitter pen!  The little flowers are using a new punch I bought.  It has 6 flowers on it, and one center.  I couldn’t resist buying it!  I also used the Martha Stewart Doily border punch which I hadn’t used yet either.  So it was a fun day using things I hadn’t used before!

Thank you so much for stopping by, have a wonderful evening,

Wednesday

Friends, like wine…

Friendslikewin [50%]

I stopped at Photo Memories yesterday quickly just to drop off my projects, and while I was there I saw this stamp and had to have it!  The main image is from Inkadinkado, the background stamp is from SU and the sentiment is from Impression Obsession.

I just love the papers used on this card, they are from My Mind’s Eye.  I was amazed that I could match up the colours of ink!  I used Sweet Plum Momento and Spanish Moss Versafine on this card. No embossing, just straight stamping.  I did make a mask of the main image so I could overstamp the SU background, En Francais.  Once the stamp was inked, I stamped it off once, then overstamped.  I didn’t want the writing to be too dark, it still is a bit in places.

I used the Nestibilities alot on this one! I also used one of the Cuttlebug Border embossing folders, as I couldn’t find a ribbon that went with the colours used.  Then of course I had to use my new Butterflies Nestibilities Die, and Kaisercraft Pearls!  lol

I also wanted to mention that there is some awesome blog candy over at Ink, Cut and Fold.  Check it out if you like!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!  I hope your day is filled with sunshine!

Tuesday

Slice of Cake

Eva over at For the Love of Life posted a beautiful project last night and issued a bit of a challenge.  Hers is soooo beautiful, go take a look!  Here is my take on her project!  This is another project for Photo Memories, using mostly their supplies.

bfcakeboxpm [50%]

I just bought the Butterflies Spellbinders Die this past weekend, and I just love it!  The stamp used is from Inkadinkado.  I used a Cuttlebug Die for the tag, then Heart Nestibilities.  The branch punch from Martha Stewart is amongst the ribbon.  Kaisercraft Pearls were used on the butterflies.

You have probably noticed I have been playing around with my pictures a bit lately.  I am trying to learn how to add corners and borders in Photoshop and how to feather.  Urgh…it’s a bit of a learning curve for me.  There are many tutorials online, so I have been glued to the computer when I am not stamping, soaking in new information!  I will get better in time! lol

Here is the link to the Spellbinders Butterfly Die Set that I used.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Cards for Photo Memories

I design cards for a local scrap/stamp store called Photo Memories.  They give me the products they want me to use, and I TRY to make something half decent! lol

For this first card they gave me a Hero Arts owl stamp and some of the new BG Porcelain paper to use.  They also want me to use the Nestibilities as much as possible and the Slice if I can.  So I used it all on this card.  The owl on the front was coloured with Copic markers, then I went over it with Opal Shimmerz.  The owls inside was just painted with the Shimmerz.  The flowers on this are Bo Bunny Rub-ons, which they also needed used.  The flowers on this card were done with the Slice.

On with the card…

haowlfrontpm [50%]

haowlmidpm [50%] haowlpm [50%]

For this second card I was to use an acrylic set from Hero Arts.  Now this was totally not my style, the paper or stamps, and I struggled with this card.  I used 2 of the stamps and a set of Spellbinders Butterflies, and Kaisercraft rhinestones.  Urgh…really not liking this card!

Thank you for dropping by today!  Have a beautiful day!

Friday

I am so excited!

The reason I am so excited is that I had 3 cards picked up for publication in Paper Creations!  Then I had 4 cards picked up for publication in Just Cards – Valentines/Love Special Issue.  YEAH!!!

I have been submitting so many cards, and most times hear nothing back.  It’s been a challenge trying to figure out what each magazine might be looking for.  It’s kind of funny though, some of my favourite cards that I thought for sure may be picked up, weren’t.  Urgh….lol, I guess you just have to keep trying!

It’s the same with Design Teams!  I have tried out for a few big companies, and seem to always make it to the final round, but then they email me  saying I didn’t make the final pick!  This year I am going to just keep trying!  Heck, all’s they can do is say NO!

I know there are many of you going through exactly the same thing.  Don’t give up though!  Just keep plugging away, and eventually we will get there! lol

Kim at Candle

Hubby and I were going through some photos last night, and came accross this one of me.  I really don’t like pictures of myself, but he said he loved this one and told me to post it on my blog.  So, here I go!  Urgh, that was painful! lol

Well, off to create and take pictures!  Have a wonderful morning everyone!  :)

I am trying a new to me blogging program and just making sure it works properly!  I have a couple things to post but it may not be until tomorrow!  Check back then if you like!

Precious Moments

I have seen the Stampavie stamps, and admired them on so many blogs, and now I have one of my own! lol  Beth from Sunflowers and Dragonflies is carrying this awesome stamp line!  On my card I used mostly all products available from her online store.

preciousmoments [50%]

Now I can't take credit for the layout of this card.  I was blurfling and came across this incredible blog.  Bev's work is awesome.  She uses alot of the European stamps, and so many gorgeous embellishments.  I loved her cards so much that I decided to use one of her layouts.  You can see her work here.

I embossing the image on white c/s, the coloured in with Copic Markers.  The little tag is done with a cuttlebug die, and stamped with a sentiment from Hero Arts.  All papers used are from the Basic Grey Sultry pad.  Flowers are from Prima.  These are all available at Beth's store.  Lastly I used some pearls from Kaisercraft to even things out a bit.  The Prima flowers that look black in the photo are actually dark brown, but I couldn't get a great picture.

I never usually use this many flowers or embellishments on a card, BUT, I just love the look when I see others doing it.  I think I will be doing this more often! lol  Thank you Bev for the inspiration!

New stamp by Sunflowers and Dragonflies

Mahonebay [50%]

Beth from Sunflowers and Dragonflies has opened a new online store.  She is selling various products, AND she is also designing her own stamps, with the focus on Canada!

The main stamp used on this card is one of Beth's designs.  It is of Mahone Bay in Nova Scotia, about 30 minutes from me.  I was so happy that she sent me this stamp.  To make the background I used Ecoline inks on watercolour paper.  The inks are available from Quietfire Design.  I then stamped and embossed Mahone Bay with black.  I used a scrap to stamp the sentiment (from Hero Arts).  I added a some dew drops and used one of Martha Stewarts punches for the border.

Thank you for stopping by tonight!

Don't hate me...

Don'thateme [50%]

For anyone who knows me, you will be amazed!! I drew a sidewalk! lol...seriously, I get scared just thinking I may have to draw something or fill something in! You should have seen one night, we had a SU party at my place and we had to draw our own stem! OMGOSH! It was AWFUL! lol But really funny! Anyway, I stamped the lady on white c/s, then coloured her in with Copics. After that I decided I wanted bling, so I went over her dress, shoes and scarf with Opal Shimmerz. I then drew the sidewalk and coloured it in with Copics again. I then cut it all out. Not sure what I was thinking or why I had to cut her out, but I did! Anyway, I liked her layered on this retro paper from Basic Grey. The saying is from Viva Las Vegas, and is on a Nestibilities tag.

The 2 lady stamps are from Rubbernecker and were a gift from my bf Flower! She sent me an envelope full of goodies last week, what a sweetheart! Thank you Flower!
Have a great day,

Men, Coffee, Chocolate....

Men,Coffee [50%]
I just love this stamp!  The way she has her hat tipped and is kind of peeking at what is going on. I thought she went perfectly with this saying from Rubber Romance. I embossed her, then coloured in with Copics. She was then cut out, and I stamped her again on another piece of white c/s. I drew the sidewalk and coloured that in. I then made a mask of her legs, and lightly sponged soft pink in on the background of a nestibilities long rectangle, keeping the die in place so I would have the white border. I was then playing around with my Slice and decided to make some flourishes to frame her as well. I am loving the Slice, but am still trying to figure out how to add the pieces to my cards without them looking out of place to me! Then I added some dew drops for good measure...lol I had a blast making these 2 cards!

Have a good one!

Valentines Hanging Heart Box

I actually have a bit of energy this afternoon! Woohooo! I took some pictures! This is a heart box that I made for Valentines Day. It's for a friend that I work with, but I haven't seen her yet to give it to her. She doesn't look on here, so I am safe! I saw the template for this box over on Mel's blog (link is on the right hand side of my blog), and I decided to give it a try. It really is adorable, but I much prefer Mel's! She has all kinds of sewing and embellishments on hers! Next time I will fancy mine up more! Thank you for the template Mel.

I am not sure who makes the patterned paper, and it was the last bit I had left. The heart stamp is from MFT. The silver trim around the edges is actually border stickers from Magenta, and I received them from Quietfire Design. The filigree flower is from the Paper Company.

Thanks for stopping by,
Have a great day!

Just wanted to say Hi

Morning Everyone,

I just wanted to stop by and say Hello. I have been SO sick. It's been 3 weeks now, and if you can believe it, I actually feel worse this week. I found out last Monday I have pnuemonia. I was a good girl and stayed home, in bed, doing not much of anything the whole week! Well, I was not rewarded for good behaviour, that's for sure. I can hardly breathe. Just making the bed, or having a shower leaves me totally breathless. I had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics last Tuesday, so they had to take me off them, and they put me on Prednisone. They only gave me 5 pills, I ran out on Saturday, and I need more. And, who would have thought antibiotics stay in your system that long? I am still itching like a crazy woman! lol I haven't got much of an appetite, and have to pretty much MAKE myself eat, which sucks. I have had a few friends call to see how I am doing, and it's so nice to hear from them, but I can hardly talk on the phone even. I am just so out of breath, the more I talk the harder to breathe.

I have managed to stamp a couple things in my haze, but haven't taken any photos. I keep thinking I will take pictures, but the thought of setting up my tent for taking pics makes me re-think that idea! lol So, please be patient, I will take pics as soon as I can. Who knows, maybe even today.

I am hoping to get to the Dr. again today. Maybe he will give me a miracle pill today and I will start feeling better? lol One can only hope.....I just want to feel good and take a DEEP breath!

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Hopefully I will have something to post for you real soon!

Created Byhand Challenge - Love Quotes

This weeks challenge over at Created Byhand, is to make a card using a Love Quote. Of course, I used one of Quietfire's stamps, and I think this one is my favorite! Real love stories never have endings, and it can be found here.

The patterned paper is from Bo Bunny, and I just LOVE it! I did a bunch of distressing around the edges. I really like this type of card, the shadow box. I distressed the inside panel, then stamped a Stampsmith image on glossy, and tinted a bit and distressed. Cut it out, and taped it down. Then I stamped the sentiment from Quietfire Design, and stamped some lips randomly. I love the whole romantic look! The hearts on the side are Heart Pearls from Hero Arts, and the Beloved stamp is from Inkadinkao.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Exciting News!

Beth Norman, from Sunflowers and Dragonflies, has started a new business venture! She has opened an online stamp store, featuring her own stamp designs, as well as carrying Stampavie, Primas, Basic Grey, Big Shot, and other items!
Beth asked me quite sometime ago if I would like to be part of her design team, and I said YES!!! How exciting to be a part of this new venture with Beth! Congratulations Girl, I wish you all the success in the world.
You can read more about this on Beth's Blog. And you can go shopping here.
Have a wonderful day everyone,

Created Byhand Challenge - Pink or Red Card

The theme this week for Created Byhand Challenge Blog is to make a card using pink or red. I chose pink...of course! lol The asian lady is from Stamp It, the asian letters are from Judikins and the sentiment is from Quietfire Design! Isn't this sentiment gorgeous? Suzanne has the most beautiful calligraphy stamps, check them out if you have a chance!

I used my Copic Markers to colour her in, then sponged around her using pink dye ink in a really light colour. I also used the Spica Glitter clear pen inside the flowers, for that bit of bling. The flowers are punches, and there is a swarovski crystal in the center of each. I used the cuttlebug as background on the nesties layer and under the ribbon. All stamping is embossed with clear ink over black versafine ink.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Love is in the air...

Hello Everyone,

I was given a chipboard purse from 7 Gypsies, and a package of Bo Bunny Valentines paper to use with it. This is for a local store I do cards and projects for at times. Well, people who know me will know that I was horrified when I saw this stuff!! lol I do CARDS....I rarely ever venture from cards either! lol Anyway, I finally buckled down and started working on it, and I actually enjoyed it! I am going to buy one of these purses and do it with my own style and stamps. It is a bit hard at times to only use products they give you to use! lol

Anyway, here are some pictures of the purse. It has an accordian album in it as well, so I decided to make a calendar out of it. While this isn't exactly my style, I think it's kinda cute.

Thank you so much for stopping by today,

Created Byhand Challenge - Hearts

This is my contribution to the Created Byhand Weekly Challenge! The challenge is Hearts, so I pulled out my heart Nestibilites and used some beautiful patterned paper. The only stamping on this card is the sentiment, from Quietfire Design. I had fun making this card, but almost felt like I was cheating because I hardly did any stamping! Oh well, what can you do....lol

Have a great evening,

Thursday

Find yourself a cup...

Hi there,

I saw this awesome cup on Catherines blog, and she linked to Fairy Blossoms & Life for the template. So, I thought I would give it a shot. The sentiment is from Quietfire Design. I know this template isn't a tea cup, but use your imagination here! lol I thought it fit anyway! I used some beautiful paper from My Minds Eye. It's a heavier paper and it holds up well for this type of card. The charm is from Hannastamps. I used my Nestibilities to cut the sentiment and layer it.

I am going to stamp a bit tonight. Not sure what though, so hopefully I will have something else to share with you tomorrow!

Have a great evening everyone,

Monday

No one can measure how much a heart can hold...

Morning!

I made this mini starbook a while back, but had to wait for it to be in the Quietfire Newsletter first, before posting to my blog. Inspiration for this book came from
Becca at Amazing Paper Grace. Thank you Becca! I used a combination of Quietfire Design's beautiful calligraphy stamps, and my trusty Nestibilities. You can find instructions on how to make this book here, as well as a supply list.

We are having strange weather here in Nova Scotia. The past few days it has been very cold, at night at times -33 with the wind chill. Then yesterday it started at -18 in the moring, warmed up to about -3 and started snowing, then just after midnight there was a bit of freezing rain, and since about 2 in the morning it's been raining. It's now +6 outside! lol I imagine the roads are a real mess, but I am so happy it's warmed up! lol It is a huge temperature difference in a matter of 24 hours though!
Well, off to finish up a few things, and eat my breaky!
Thank you so much for stopping by today,

Glamour....never goes out of style.

I just received some stamps I bought from Stamp-it! I just love their stamps. This is one of the 3 ladies I bought. She is called Audrey Esq. I didn't want to add much to this card, I wanted it to be more of the elegant side, if you can say bright pink is elegant! lol I stamped her and embossed with black, then coloured in with Copic Markers. All layers are done with Nestibilities. The sentiment is from Art Impressions. Don't you love the black ribbon with black swirls in it? It's my last piece! I need more! Very basic card, but I like the overall look of it....I think! lol

Have a wonderful evening,

Created Byhand Challenge - The word Love

This weeks challenge on Created Byhand is to use the word LOVE on your card. I chose to use a sentiment from Quietfire Design that begins with the word LOVE. This is one of my favorite sentiments. The main image is a photo stamp from Stampsmith, I coloured her in lightly with Tombow markers and a watercolour brush. I used my trusty Nesties to do all the layering on this card. I also used a flourish stamp on the background patterned paper. The flowers are punches and I used Dew Drops in the centers. I haven't done a tall skinny card like this before, and I like the look! I am trying hard to start using some of the fabulous embellishments I have, but tend to hoard! I know you know what I mean! lol

Thank you so much for stopping by,

Created Byhand Weekly Challenge - Flourishes

Last week's challenge at Created Byhand was flourishes. For my card I used one of Quietfire Designs new sentiments! I just love this flourished calligraphy. I also used a paper with flourishes in the background, as well as a small flourished stamp in the corner. I didn't really get the look I was going for in this card. I was trying for something elegant, that you could give on wedding day, but it's just missing something? If you have any suggestions, please leave a comment! I would love to hear your suggestions as how I could finish this card, to give it a more elegant look.

Thanks for stopping by tonight,

Moon Bathing

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted this week because I have been so busy and haven't really had time to stamp. I did make this card, a bit at a time though, and just finished it up tonight. I have been going thru my stamps and there are so many I haven't even inked up yet! Yikes! I am going to try to use some of the things (stamps, papers, ribbons) that I have been hoarding, I think that is my stamping resolution for the year! lol

I have no idea who makes this Asian Lady stamp, but the Cherry Blossom is made by Rubber Stampede. I didn't want to do to much and take away from the lady, so I just stamped and embossed some Cherry Blossoms, and coloured them in with Copic Markers. I coloured the lady's skin and coloured the moon with the silver Spica Pen. I then stamped and embossed another lady, and coloured in her cloak with Copic markers, and went over the flowers and leaves with a clear Spica Pen. It adds such a nice soft touch. I then cut out the cloak including her hair, then layered it over top of the first image. I did colour a bit on the bottom layer as well, because in person the bottom of the cloak is lifted quite a bit and you can see a bit under the layer. The white layer was then layered onto a beautiful piece of black paper that is embossed. If you click to make the picture bigger, you will probably see the paper better.

Well, off to bed for me, I have the remainder of a First Aid course tomorrow for work, oh joy! It was a long and a bit boring day today! lol Hopefully tomorrow is more interesting!

Have a wonderful evening!

My word for 2009

I have seen on a few blogs that people are picking a word for the New Year. I didn't have to think to hard to get my word! lol

HEALTHY

This past year has been a tough one. I have diabetes, and was doing great without insulin, but in the spring my sugars went crazy, and we decided it was time to go on with the insulin. I have been sick on and off all year. I seem to pick up every single cough, cold or flu that makes it rounds. Working at a large store makes it even harder to keep away from sickness, with the staff and customers. You would be amazed at how many sick people go grocery shopping! lol There has not been a month this past year that I haven't gotten sick and missed work. I am so thankful for very understanding management at my store. They don't question me when I am sick, and let me have the time to get better. I think they have gone above and beyond what is required. My husband is amazing and is so good to me. He is patient beyond belief, always there for me in all circumstances. We were married 2 years ago on December 17th, and yes, in sickness and in health. BUT, there seems to be more sickness than health, and he is a real trooper for hanging in there with me! lol SO, this year my word is HEALTHY! I am going to try harder to keep myself healthy. I will eat better ( I do pretty good in this department already), I will eat more on schedule (hard one..lol), and I will excercise more often. If I keep to this plan, I am sure this will be a better year for me, my husband and my work!

Thank you too for hanging in there with me!!!

Sunday

Thinking of you...

Hello again,
What a busy time of year this is...I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season! I made this card on New Years Eve, but didn't have a chance to take a picture of it until now! lol The photostamp image is from The Stampsmith, and it is stamped with Ancient Page chocolate brown, then coloured in with a waterbrush and tombow markers. The sentiment is from Quietfire Design. The patterned paper is some delicious paper I found at the LSS fromMy Minds Eye, and I just love it!!! I used Cherish on this card. The pearls are from Kaisercraft, ribbon from Martha Stewart. Not sure where the charm brad is from though! I am really loving my photostamps lately. I always feel good for some reason when I use them.

Well, I must go stamp some more images! I am trying to get a bunch done, then I can settle in and colour or paint them in! I am getting some Shimmerz Blingz in the mail hopefully tomorrow, and I can't wait to try those on a project!

Have a great evening everyone,
