{ Used a few new things on this card }

I have been really struggling with my stamping and alot of things right now, so yesterday I was issued a challenge to use some of the new things I have gotten lately and had to use bright colours, so here it is! This challenge is probably the only reason I even came into my stamping room today, my muse is completely gone.....hopefully one day she will come back....
So, in this card I used {in my thoughts}, new Micheal's clear acrylic $1.50 stamps, new Prima flower, white with bright green polka dots (doesn't scan real well), and the new paper from Basic Grey that I just love. The main image is from Paperbag Studios. I also used the cuttlebug on a small piece of c/s and taped that on as well. I even managed to stay away from distressing!! Amazing! lol

Thanks for the challenge Deborah,
:)

{ 2 Challenges done in one! }

Good Afternoon!

I had a great morning! Just played around a bit and decided to do a collage for Ethel's challenge, but decided to incorporate another challenge into this one! It's a Gothic Arch challenge, on ink-stains.

I am not the best with collage, it truly is a challenge for me, as I tend to like things a bit more organized, and have a hard time just letting go! lol I traced the template for the gothic arch, then wrote a verse from Titanic around the arch, I know you probably can't read it, but it says "Near, Far, wherever you are, I believe that the heart does go on. Once more, you open the door, and you're here in my heart, and my heart will go on and on." Oh I loved the movie, and this song seems perfect for this picture, (thanks for the great idea Holly!) Then I had to use a found object, a button. I had to use a photo, or magazine piece, so I used a collage sheet from Artchix. Also used Stampers Anonymous scratch stamp, SU french script, and Stamp barn floral border. I even used some rub-ons on this, which I have NEVER used before, but have alot of! lol I am surprised they work so well, going to have to start using them more!
I was going to scan this on a piece of black c/s, but I didn't want you to think it was a card, so I just left the white in the background. Might go ahead and scan on black anyway, I think it would look better! LOL As you all know, I am still not getting along with my camera! lol

Thanks for looking, and thank you for the challenge Ethel!!!
:)
Off to create some more! lol

Dryabella

Well, I have to have some card samples done, and had a swap to do as well, so I combined them and got them all done! The Girl stamp is from Stampingbella , I just love the whole Bella line! For this one I just stamped on white paper with ancient page Black, then coloured with Prismacolor pencils, and used oderless gamsol to blend. I then stamped the towel part of the image on patterned paper, and cut the towel out and adhered it over top of the girl! Inked the edges up a bit, and that's it! Here are 2 cards, almost the same, just a bit of a colour difference, and some are done with the marvy square scallop, and some done with the marvy oval scallop.

I think I am now officially caught up on all my swaps and things that had to be done. I am actually looking forward to doing some fun stamping, for no reason at all, other than have some fun! I have just been feeling so darn bogged down with everything....is there really light at the end of the tunnel here, or is this just a tease?? lol

Thanks for visiting ladies!!

Oak Ash and Thorne

This has to be one of my favorite stamps! She is from Third Coast and the saying is from Postmodern Design. I did her on polished stone, lost a bit of her effect I think, but I started it so I finished it! lol This was done for a weekly challenge on ink-stains .

I have been really busy the past couple weeks with work, appointments, and then my best friend Holly came out from Montreal for a visit! We have been having a blast, but she leaves tonight. Going to miss her so much. I guess I will stamp my way thru missing her! LOL

When she was here Holly helped me make a new banner for my blog! It was so nice to have some lessons in Photoshop! lol...I actually did it all myself, but Holly was here guiding me the whole way thru! Can't wait to try a few more things! Lol

We also got together with the ladies from New Glasgow and area, and went for lunch and shopped at Mindy's store. It was so great to meet up with everyone again! Next time I hope we can spend more time together. It was a bit nuts at Mindy's store and she was busy, so we all kinda wandered around like lost sheep! lol...I agree with Holly, next time we will just invite ourselves over to Robin or Sharon's place! lol

It was just nice to have my best friend here.....to talk to, spend time with, and of course LAUGH with! We did go to the movies one night....The Number 23. Not sure even now what I thought of the movie. It was pretty whacked. All that evening I was seeing 23...lol...of course Holly had to point even more things out and get me all freaked! lol......note to self....no more scary movies...lol

Well, off I go! A few more things to do around here and hopefully a bit more stamping as well!

Have a great day!
:)
