Wednesday

Happy New Years Everyone!!!

I know I haven't been on much over the holidays, hubby has been on vacation, and doesn't go back til the 5th. While I LOVE having him to myself, he is driving me a bit crazy, and I haven't had any creative time! lol I am sure you all know what I mean!

I wanted to wish you all a very Happy New Years, and all the best in 2009! I am so thankful for all the bloggers out there, for all your inspiration and friendship!

On another note, I am so tied up in knots! I applied for a design team, and SO WANT to be on this team! The stamps are so my style, and the other designers are out of this world! It would be a huge honour to be picked. The winners will be announced tomorrow. In my head I know I probably won't make it, but in my heart I am wishing!! lol So, wish me luck, and keep everything crossed for me!!!! I think I need it!! lol

See you next year!! lol

Friday

One day and it's over? lol

It seems like there is so much preparation for Christmas day, then it's over? It feels like a bit of a let down, but I am sure there are many who know what I mean. We had a very relaxing day today and had a bit of company, which was nice. Christmas day was awfully quiet with just Hubby and I this year, but it was nice to spend some time together alone as well. We sure miss all our kids though!

Anyway, I have some cards that I haven't had a chance to post yet, so here are a couple more. They are both done with the same Thomas Kinkade stamp, d/s tape and special Glitter Ritz glitter. They are both so sparkly in person it's amazing! You might see the glitter if you click on the pic to make it bigger.
Have a wonderful holiday season everyone!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!

May your day be filled with love and surprises!

Created Byhand Challenge - Patterned Paper - Merry Christmas

This week at Created Byhand, the ladies decided to give us an easy challenge since it's such a busy time for everyone. This is my contribution for the challenge.

This card is done with a stamp that my b/f Flower gave me, not sure who makes it though. The sentiment is from Quietfire Design. Omgosh, I just love the beautiful calligraphy that Suzanne from Quietfire does! She is truly amazing. The woman image was stamped with black Ancient page ink, the painted in with tombow ink and watercolour brush, using very little water so the paper doesn't warp. Then I used a few different Distress Inks to make the image look older. I was trying to go for a very vintage type card. Snowflakes were punched, then tiny pearls were put on top when they were adhered to the card.

The patterned paper is from Daisy D. Have to find a few more sheets before they run out, I just love the snowflakes on this paper.

Thanks for stopping by, and hope you decide to do the challenge!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Friday

New cards and and a new to me project!

Good Evening!

I did want to post these yesterday, but I was called into work. Then I worked today and took pictures when I got home. I have been going crazy trying to get all my Christmas cards done! I am beginning to think I must like stress, cause I seem to always be doing things last minute, why do I not start these cards in July or something? lol

The 4 following cards were done in one evening. I did 3 of each. I really needed to make some fast cards, and the cuttlebug was my best friend that evening! lol All folders and dies are Cuttlebug. The stamped card uses a sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms. The insides are just stamped with black ink, saying "Christmas Blessings". I wanted to keep them very simple and hopefully elegant. Of course, I had to add a ton of stickles!!! The squares on the 2 cards were done with the nestibilities. Dazzling Diamonds glitter was used on the snowflakes over top of clear glue.

Now this is something I have never done before, and it was a real learning curve for me! I used way too much paper, and made MANY mistakes! lol In the end I am pleased with it, and I know as I do more I will get better! This was made for a friend, I am going to be putting her Christmas gift inside! I hope she likes it!

Well, thank you so much for dropping by tonight! Take care and don't rush so much that you don't enjoy the holiday season!

I will be back tomorrow!
Sweet dreams,

Thursday

Created Byhand Challenge - Trio of Trees

Morning Everyone,

I was speaking to a friend last night, and she said I should just sit down and stamp something, and let my mind take a break from everything that has been going on. So I sat down and thought about what to do. The Created Byhand Weekly Challenge looked like fun so I decided to give that a go. My card is totally silly.....I didn't want to do anything serious, I wanted playful. So....I printed out the Trio of Trees on paper, and embossed them with white, using Quietfire Design Flourishes. I then stamped and embossed in black the Moose from Cornish Heritage Farms. I coloured him in with Copic markers, and cut him out. I then tied a burgundy bow around his neck. Next I die cut some snowflakes using the Cuttlebug Snowflake die. I then placed everything on the card base, and went over the snowflakes and trees with Stickles. It looked a bit blank, so I went over the bottom of the card with clear glue, and sprinkled chunky glitter over it, so it would look a bit like snow or ice. I thought I had bought white chunky glitter, but it's clear! Oops!

Anyway, thank you for stopping by, and thank you for all your kind words the past week.

Thursday

My heart is aching....

I am sad to tell you all that my Auntie Gail has passed away. She was a very special lady and My Uncle Bob, well, he is the best! I know this will be so very hard on him as they were joined at the hip and did nothing without each other. We spent almost every weekend at their house when we were kids, and when we were grown up, we still managed to always get together. Auntie Gail and Uncle Bob were there for us when my Mom passed away. They have always been my rock, and in my eyes, the perfect love for one another. I can't remember even hearing them fight, or say a nasty word to one another. I can't type right now....will talk more later.

You will be missed Auntie Gail, I love you.

Wednesday

Christmas Ornament Exchange

Good Morning,

We had a Christmas Ornament Exchange over at a stamping friends last week. We were to make an ornament, then bring it over. We put numbers in a bowl, and whoever got the highest number got to pick out of all the ornaments, and tell why they picked that specific ornament. At the end each person had to tell which ornament they made. It was alot of fun! This is the ornament I made for the exchange. Catherine kindly took a picture of it when she got home, because I forgot! lol Thank you Catherine!

I used chipboard ornaments from Basic Grey. The backside is swiped with versamark ink, then I used pearl lustre embossing powder on it. On the front I glued on a piece of patterned paper. Stamped my angel image on white c/s, then coloured it in with Copic Markers. I went over parts of it with Spica Glitter Pens as well. I then distressed her with distress inks. Then I cut her out and curved her wings with my fingers and mounted her on the ornament. The edges of the ornament are also distressed with distress inks.
I also made another type of ornament, but I can't share it with you just yet!

I had so much fun making this and it didn't take long at all! Half hour tops! I have some more ready to embellish, so I best get busy! Christmas is approaching very fast!

Have a wonderful day!

Sunday

Real love stories never have endings...

I saw this stamp and fell in love with it! My bf Flower gave it to me!!!! When I opened my mail I was floored!! Thank you so much Flower! I will treasure this stamp! She is stamped on glossy c/s, then painted in using a watercolour brush and tombow markers. I just swipe some colour from the markers onto a piece of plastic and use a wet brush to pick the colour up and paint parts in. After I painted in what I wanted to, I went over everything with Tim Holtz Distress Inks, going darker as I got closer to the edges. The background paper is also distressed. I then stamped the sentiment from Quietfire Design. I thought it went perfectly with this image. I randomly stamped a couple little stamps from Inkadinkado. Then punched some flowers and added them, putting tiny pearls in the centers of them. I really like how this card turned out! If you click on the photo to make it bigger, you will see more of the colouring and detail up close.

I bought a couple more Stampsmith plates last Friday and they came this past Friday! What awesome service Estelle gives! When I saw this new Marilyn plate I know I HAD to have it. She looks so naughty and sultry, I thought this sentiment from Quietfire Design went perfectly with her! Marilyn is stamped with Black Ancient Page, then distressed with Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I only used a touch of pink on her lips. I had intended this card to be for the Created Byhand challenge, red and green, but the green distress inks don't show up very well. I used it on the main layer that Marilyn is on, then over all the striped patterned paper. In person it shows up, but not in the photo. I am submitting it as is because I don't have time to try again right now.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

Have a wonderful evening,

Friday

A sad day for my family

I woke up this morning, got ready for work, and received a phone call that my Grandpa (my Mom's Dad) was in the hospital and not doing well. No info as to which hospital or anything. So I went searching for the hospitals in Moncton, NB, and found where he was. They put me thru to the Nurses station, and his nurse spoke to me. He had just taken his last breath. This all happened so fast and was so unexpected. He had a perforated bowel and he had gotten so weak that they said he wouldn't survive the surgery. I only live a couple hours away, and was hoping to be able to get there and say goodbye. My heart is heavy, and I feel so sad. My Grandma doesn't want anyone around today, so I won't drive up today, but my Aunts will all be there tomorrow from other parts of Canada, so I will drive up tomorrow I think. Hopefully the weather will hold out for a few days, as I think I will be back and forth a bit. My Grandpa was a real charmer! He was very soft spoken, but he often had a little twinkle in his eyes, and you knew right then he was up to no good! I will miss you Grandpa.

Rest in peace Grandpa,
I love you,
Kim

Edited to add: Grandpa's funeral is on Tuesday December 9th. Here is his obituary. I am heading to Moncton tomorrow morning, so I probably won't be around for a few days. My Grandma isn't doing the best, she has Alzheimers they believe. It was sad to find out she doesn't know who I am, or the rest of us grandchildren really. I kinda feel like I have lost 2 grandparents. Anyway, will go there tomorrow and help my Aunt's in anyway I can. Thank you so much for all your kind words, it means the world to me. I will be posting a few cards tonight that I had already made. So, after I upload, I will see you in a few days.

Tuesday

Created Byhand Challenge - Christmas Music Card

The challenge at Created Byhand for last week was to make a Christmas card also using music somewhere on the card. I used the music bar on the background, stamped with versamark, then clear embossed. I think you may have to click on the pic to make it bigger to see the music. Then I used the new large Merry Christmas snowflake, stamped and embossed with Tanzanite Pearl Lustre embossing powder. I added a square swarovski crystal to the center of the snowflake. The sentiment SNOW is also stamped and embossed the same as the snowflake. I wrapped some ribbon around the card. I wanted to add more, but held myself back! lol I like the simplicity of this card. All stamps used are from Quietfire Design. If you haven't been there for awhile, you should really check the rubber out!! There is brand new BEAUTIFUL stamps!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Friday

Created Byhand Challenge - Christmas Tag

Hi there,

The challenge this week at Created Byhand is to make a Christmas tag. I originally made the little tree and 2 layers as a tag, but then decided I wanted to make a card. So I incorporated that tag onto the card. I hope this isn't cheating to badly!

The stamps used on this card are all new releases from Quietfire Design! They are just gorgeous stamps, I have lots more to use and show you! Quietfire Design also has all the new release Christmas stamps on sale at 20% off til Sunday, so if you need some beautiful stamps, you know where to go!

I stamped and embossed the image and sentiment with Vintage Plum embossing powder. Then added some stickles and a swarovski crystal to the tree. I used the nestibilities to do all my layers. The snowflakes are done using a punch, they were glued onto the card, then I spread Star Dust stickles over them. In real life this card sparkles like crazy! You can see much more sparkle if you click on the picture to make it bigger.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Thursday

Quietfire meets Stampsmith

I have been wanting to play with my photostamps from Stampsmith, and as always, Quietfire Design has the most beautiful sentiments and background stamps. They seem to compliment each other so well. For the background, I used the I love you Alphabet, and the sentiment There are two things, both from Quietfire Design. I first stamped the photo image on glossy paper with Ancient Page coal black ink. I heated it to dry it well, then used a sponge to add distress inks to make it look older. I then went in with my phototwin markers and coloured the flowers and bows on the girls. Ran it thru the cuttlebug with my new Nestibilities Label, and ran a background paper thru one size bigger as well. The background was stamped with Light Brown from Ancient Page. The sentiment was stamped with Chestnut Roan Chalk Ink. I then assembled also putting a piece of chocolate brown satin ribbon, and some self adhesive pearls from Kaiser Craft onto the card for interest.

I stamped off a pile of photostamps the other night, so I will be making cards with them in the next while and will add them as I get them done!

We got snow last night! I love it, it's so quiet when it snows. I am not sure if you know what I mean, but to me, it's very peaceful. The snow is all melting now, but I have to say, I am looking forward to winter and the snow staying....lol I know many of you won't agree with me though!

Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by!

Blogger Award

I am so lucky to have received this award not just once, but twice! I received one from Jennifer at Thimbles, Bobbins, Paper and Ink and the other from Kimmy at Stamps, Scraps n' More. Thank you so much ladies, I am honoured that you thought of me!

Now for the hard part! I am supposed to pass on this award to 5 more people! Urgh...only 5?? There are just so many blogs I follow, and so many talented people out there! I will name 5 people, but honestly, I would love to pass this on to all the talented stampers out there! Thank you so much for all the inspiration!

New product to me! Glitter Ritz

Wow, this glitter is totally amazing! I tried so hard to get a good photo of this card, but it glitters so much it's hard for the camera to capture it all. You can click on the picture to get a better look at the card. I used a Thomas Kinkade stamp and the warm highlight Glitter Ritz. I borrowed the stamp and glitter from Deborah, but I have my own coming, probably tomorrow (thank you Kristy at She Runs with Scissors, link is on the right). The sentiment is from Stamp a Mania. I used a couple brads because it looked a tiny bit empty on the bottom left side, and ribbon under the main image. I also used my new Nestibilities on this card (thank you Elaine)....I LOVE THEM!! lol

Thank you again for stopping by, have a great day!

I am still alive! lol

Well, finally I took some pictures! I made these cards for a local store here in town. They pick out the stamps and supplies, and I create. Sounds like a good deal to me! lol The little monkey from Stampendous is not a stamp I would usually use, but after the card was done, I think it's really cute! I wanted the monkey to be a girl, hence all the pink. I think I have only seen it done as a boy so far! Girls shovel snow too! lol You can't see it too well, but there are some Inkadinkado flurry stamps in the background, the pink I used is so light. I used the Copic markers to colour her in, and spica glitter pens to colour the blade of the shovel. Added tons of Stickles and some gems. I also used my new Nestibilities (thank you Elaine). The snowflakes are done with a Cuttlebug die.

The next card I wanted to keep simple. I just stamped the sentiment on pink, and embossed in silver. Matted with silver shimmer. Both were done with the Nestibilities. Snowflakes are from Inkadinkado, sentiment from Stampendous. Added some gems, and that's it for this card.
This is another stamp from Stampendous that I wouldn't normally use. But I kinda like the way it turned out. I made the die cuts with my new Slice! Oh I am loving that thing! I have so many shapes cut now, just from playing! lol If you look closely you can see me taking the picture in the silver mirror cardstock! Background is the snowflake embossing folder from Cuttlebug. Lots of Stickles on this one as well, and a snowflake die from Cuttelbug.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

I miss my photostamps!

Good Morning,

I was sitting here this morning thinking that I really miss doing photostamp cards. I think this is what I will be pulling out today and working with. I am posting a couple cards I haven't shown on my blog yet, they are some of my favorites from The Stampsmith. They are so easy to work with, but I get so caught up with other stamps, that I kind of forget that I even have them? Do you all do this too? Time to dig them out! lol
Enjoy your day!

Friday

I have a new friend......

Well, I had to return a paper trimmer today and get it replaced as I broke the clear strip that holds the paper in place. So I went to M's and did that. On the way home I thought I would quickly stop by Photo Memories (scrap and stamp store). I really just went in to see if they had any new stamps, and they did! lol...So I picked up a set of Inkadinkado clear stamps, then went to the counter. Guess what they had on display??? Well, you will probably never guess, so I will tell you! The Making Memories SLICE!!!!! Oh boy, it was calling out my name, begging me to buy it!! They just got them in and hadn't even played with them yet. I bought The Slice (my new friend) and 2 more cartridges, came home, plugged it in to charge, and I have already been playing with it! Talk about simple to use, it also cuts like a charm! When they preordered them, the Canadian dollar was high, and they received great pricing. BUT, with the dollar once again being low, the next order The Slice will be about 60 dollars more? The second he said that, I made up my mind and knew I had to have it! I also had 2 - 20% off coupons, and 1 - 10% off coupon. So in the end I bought The Slice, 2 extra cartridges, 1 set of stamps, cheaper than I will be able to buy The Slice when it comes in again. Can you say Happy Stamper??? LOL That's me tonight!

My husband has been away for a few weeks for work, and he flies home tonight! YEAH! It will be so nice to have him home again. I am working tomorrow though, and he is working all weekend. Even though it will be a busy weekend for him, I sure love knowing he is at home at night with me! Looks like I will have some creative time too!

Sorry about my ramblings tonight, I am just excited about my man coming home and my great deal today!!

I will take a picture of my new friend tomorrow afternoon!
Have a great evening!

Thursday

Christmas - Inkadinkado Style

Good Morning,

I just love the Christmas stamps from Inkadinkado! I am going to be teaching a stamping class, and it's mostly beginners, so I had to be careful with that I chose to do for cards. They had to be quite basic, but I still wanted them to be eye catching. The lady that asked me to do this owns The Scrapbooking Cafe Online, and carries the Cuttlebug and all the folders and dies, as well as the Nestibilities. So, I wanted to include as much of these as possible. I love how they turned out!

The first card uses the Winter Owl from Inkadinkado. He is stamped with Black Versafine, then embossed with Egyptian Gold. I know it's hard to see in the photo, but it does glitter. I cut it out with the Petite Oval Nestibilities, then layered on a larger scalloped oval. I ran a strip thru the Cuttlebug using the Snowflake embossing folder. Then cut a green strip wider, and also used the Cuttlebug Snowflake Die to cut out some snowflakes. The edges of the white paper are all edged with Distress Inks (tea dye). After the card was assembled, I added Stickles to the snowflakes and parts of the owl image. This card glitters so beautifully in real life.

The second card uses the Inkadinkado Reindeer. Isn's she pretty? She is stamped with Chocolate Brilliance, then embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I used the Long Rectangle Nestibilites to cut her out, and also cut out a larger scalloped rectangle. The tag was cut out also using the Nestibilites Ribbon Tags. All edges were distressed using Distress Inks (tea dye). After the card was assembled, I added Stickles to parts of the Reindeer, and it is so sparkly...love it! Almost forgot to mention I used one of the new Martha Stewart border punches as well. It took me a long time to finally buy some of her border punches, but now that I have....well, I am hooked big time!

You should be able to click on either of the cards above to get a better view and see the glitter better.

I have a busy day ahead of me. I just went through a sleep study, because I snore like a man at hunt camp (so my husband says)! lol They discovered that I have sleep apnea...so today I go in to get a CPAP machine. Not sure I am going to like that mask much, BUT, it would be so nice to wake up in the morning and feel well rested. Some mornings I wake up and feel more tired than I did when I went to bed! lol Then I have some other running around to do...oh the joy...lol

Wish me luck! lol

Have a great day and thank you so much for stopping by today!

P.S. I almost forgot to share my big news! I had 3 of my cards picked up for a magazine! They won't be published until Summer '09, but I am already excited! I have been submitting like crazy...and finally it happens!! YEAH!

Tuesday

Created Byhand Challenge - Brown or Black Tones

Evening Everyone,

This weeks challenge at Created Byhand is to use brown or black tones. I decided to use browns. For this card I used a Quietfire Design sentiment that I just love. It is stamped with Versafine Sepia, then embossed with clear powder. The background is an embossing folder from Cuttlebug, on Coredinations paper, and sanded. The ribbon is a Martha Stewart ribbon that was in the clearance bin at Mike's for $1.49! What a steal! I kept looking at this card and thinking it needs something else, so I added some Dew Drops to some of the dots! Now the card reminds me of chocolate and strawberries....hmmm.. I think I am hungry! lol

If you have a chance, stop by Created Byhand Weekly Challenges, to have a look at the cards, or play in the challenge!

Have a great evening,

Quietfire Design Quote Book - Sneak Peak

I am not sure if I can share all the pictures yet, so I am giving you a sneak peak! I am posting pictures of the front and back of the book. I have a friend at work that was diagnosed with Breast Cancer this last month. She has already had surgery, and is home getting ready for chemotherapy. I wanted to make her a special little book with quotes, and the Quietfire Design stamps are perfect for this book. I know, the book isn't pink, but I had to change it up a bit! Everything we have been giving her is all pink.

I will post the rest of the pics with the book open when I get the ok.
Thank you so much for stopping by today,

Quietfire Design Frame

Hi Everyone,

I did this frame last month, and realised I had forgotten to post it. I have been trying to do something different lately, not just cardmaking. I am not sure why, but being a bit adventurous! lol Anyway, I painted a frame, then sanded it down. I then stamped and embossed with black embossing powder. I thought it looked a bit to shiny, so I went over everything with the sand paper again. I like the more distressed look. All stamps used on this are from Quietfire Design, as well as the digital collage image.

My g/f Louise was over just when I finished the frame and loved it, so I gave it to her! It sounds bad, but when it was made it just didn't fit the interior of my place, and it suited her much better! Funny how we do that!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Thursday

Quietfire Design meets Cuttlebug

Suzanne at Quietfire Design has such beautiful calligraphy stamps! I just received this one, Home is the heart of life. I just bought a new cuttlebug background, and it's little heart dots! Beautiful, so I had to think up a way to bring these 2 items together. I used the christmas village embossing folder from Cuttlebug as well. I ran it thru the nestabilities first to get my oval, then ran the oval thru with the village folder. Did the same with the sentiment from Quietfire Design. I put it all together and added a beautiful flower, that I have no idea where I bought it! Added stickles and used a Martha Stewart punch for the bottom of the card. I was very happy with how this card turned out. Oh, almost forgot, I used the Martha branch punch as well! Don't you just love her punches?
Thank you for the inspiration Yvonne!

Anyway, I am off to work! Enjoy your day,

Totally Witchin'

I made a dozen cards like this just to give some of the girls at work. I searched the web for vintage Halloween pics, and found this and a few others. The sentiment is from MFT. I also used a little crow rub on from Making Memories. I know it's a simple card, but there were too many to make to spend alot of time on them.

Thanks for stopping by today,

These are too funny!!

I saw this on another Canadian's blog and thought it was too funny not to share with you! I also found another, and I had to laugh, because I have done it before! lol It's been snowing in some parts of Canada, but thankfully it's been rather nice here on the east coast. I am not quite ready for the winter months yet. I do have some cards to share, but waiting for the sun to come up to take pictures!

Have a great day!

Wednesday

The "S" card

LOL...This is my "S" card! S stands for snowflakes, santa, sleds, snowglobes and snowmen. I fell in love with this stamp when I saw it, I just thought it's so simple and elegant. The stamp is from Impression Obsession. If you haven't checked them out lately, you really should! They have some of the MOST beautiful stamps, and they have a ton of new releases as well.

I wanted a vintage, serene type card for this stamp. I stamped and embossed the image with gold embossing powder, then cut it out with the oval Nestabilities. Took and sponge and lightly inked around the image. Then layered on another oval Nestie. Added some ribbon, and some Cuttlebug snowflakes, and pearls in the centers, and the card was done! Oops, almost forgot, I used the Martha Stewart Branch punch and added a few to the ribbon know. It's such a delicate punch, I just love it! I inked around the edges of the card as well. Isn't this paper yummy? It's all from the new Basic Grey line, WASSAIL. This was a super fast card to make, so I think I will be making quite a few more for Christmas giving.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Tuesday

New Blog Look - Last one! lol

Hi there,

Thank you for stopping by today! I was so excited that my awesome bf Flower made me a new blog!! I did like the one I just had, but it seems like everyone was starting to get the backgrounds, and I wanted something in my own colours and taste. Something a bit more personal I guess. So anyway, this is what I came home to today! I just love the soft pink, grey and black together! The leaves are perfect, and OMGOSH, check out that bling??? Now what girl doesn't love bling! lol

I am going to be doing a bit of stamping tonight, so hopefully I will have something to share with you all later!

Thank you again Flower! You are amazing!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Sunday

Quietfire Designs - Ecoline Inks

This is the first time I have really had any kind of success using these inks. All other attempts I think I used the wrong paper. This time I used watercolour paper, and I love how the background turned out. First I stamped some images with versamark and clear embossed. Then I used my teflon sheet, dropped a few dabs of 2 different colours of ecoline ink on it, then sprayed my paper with water using a fine mister. When this was dry I ironed it to take off the embossing powder. I then embossed with black some flourishes. All embossed with black the sentiment. The snowflakes were done with the cuttlebug, and Dewdrops were added for interest. Not exactly sure how I feel about this card. It seems a bit busy for me. But it's done, and it's staying this way! lol

The flourishes, sentiment and ecoline inks are available at Quietfire Design.

Thank you for stopping by!

Feel Better Soon

So many people are sick lately with bad colds and the flu, so I thought I would make a few cards to have on hand. All stamps are from MFT. I just love their stamps and had a blast colouring this in with Copic Markers. I also used my new Martha punch on the bottom, ohhhh it's so pretty! The tag is done with the Nestibilities and Cuttlebug. Prima flowers and dew drops were added at the end. All my pics tonight are dark. Will take different ones tomorrow. Thats what I get trying to take pics at night!

Thanks for stopping by,

Friday

Blogger Problems

Well, this is so strange. Last week I noticed that I have word verification on my own posts. I replied to an email saying that my blog is NOT a spam blog. Then they went and blocked my blog so I couldn't post a thing? Now it's back to word verification? Sheesh, well, at least I can post now. I sure hope they get this figured out soon, as the letters you have to verify are sooooo hard to read!!

Has anyone else been having this problem? They keep saying my blog is a spam blog, but it's not! lol

Hopefully I will be back later to post some cards!! Wish me luck with blogger! lol

Thursday

A few Christmas Cards

I hope you are all doing well, and getting some crafty time in! I had a great day stamping, and then I went shopping! lol I hit The Cutting Garden, Photo Memories, and then Michaels. I had a 50% off coupon for M's, and also a gift card from Julie over at Mutch to Stamp. So I picked up one of the new Martha Stewart Edge punches, I LOVE IT! And a cuttlebug snowflake die cut. Then I went thru again with another 50% coupon and got a cute little bee stamp from Stampendous. I have someone in mind for that one. At the Cutting Garden they had the new Basic Grey Itsy stamps, they are really nice, and great price, $7.99. So of course I had to get one set. Then at Photo Memories I managed to get a heart corner punch that I have been wanting, as well as a few pieces of beautiful Bo Bunny p/p! I am so bad.....but I honestly didn't spend much because I used coupons and had a credit at Photo Memories. Gotta love that!

Anyway, one of the stores had asked me to make some store samples for them, using their stamps and papers, and any other supplies. So I played today and dropped them off tonight. These are the cards that I made for them, all using Stampendous stamps.

This snowman was stamped with versafine on white, then I used clear embossing powder to emboss. The image is coloured with Copic Markers, and I used some Martha Stewart Glitter on his hat, pom pom and mit cuffs. I also went over the tree, star, and ornaments with the spica glitter pen. I really like how this card turned out. I used the Nestabilities for all the circles.

The next card turned out pretty bright, but those are the papers I had to use! It is quite cheery though when you see it in person, and full of bling! Same again, stamped with versafine and embossed with clear powder. Coloured with Copics, and tons of Stickles!! I used some of the Hero Arts gemstones, cuttlebug snowflake background and die cut snowflake.

This last card is really like an ornament. It doesn't open. I am not sure about this one though. I spent alot of time colouring in the image, and blending colours, shading, then I decided it needed a bit something else, so I put versamark all over it and poured glittery clear embossing powder over it. It lost alot of the detail, but they seemed to really like it at the store, so who knows? I think it looked much better before...

Thanks so much for stopping by tonight. I hope you all have a wonderful evening!

Halloween Cards

Evening!

I finally had a chance to use my new MFT stamps! I just love these witches, and had a blast making these cards. They are for a swap on a forum. I made 6 of these, some of each colour combo. I think in the end I prefer the green ones. I paper pieced the dresses, and coloured the rest of the witches and broom with copic markers. I also went over the hat, boots, and black of the socks with a black spica glitter pen. They shimmer nicely in real life. I think my muse just may be back. Even if she just came for a visit, it was nice to have her back for awhile!

Have a great evening!

Quietfire Design Card

Hi again!

This card was done using a Quietfire Design stamp in the center. I saw this technique at a blog called Amazing Paper Grace and knew I had to try it. The center was done using a corner punch, how cool is that! I had fun making this card, but I think it looks a bit plain yet. May add something later!

Thanks for stopping in!

Wednesday

More Vacation Pictures

Here are some pictures of the second week of our vacation with Mom and Dad. We went to Cape Breton, but it was a tiny bit of a rush visit as we had hurricane warnings at home, and Dad and Mom had to chance their flight and it cut their visit 3 days short. We still wanted to go on the Cabot Trail, so we just did an overnight trip! It's beautiful...you really have to see it with your own eyes though, our pictures don't do it any justice!

First stop along the way was the Glenora Distillery. Hmmm....there is a theme happening here...brewery then distillery! lol And I don't even drink! Anyway, it was just so beautiful and serene there. This is a photo of the restaurant part of the compound. I just love the greenery.
The stream in front of the restaurant and behind the distillery.
Inside the distillery.

Bottoms up! lol You would think they would have stopped at one, but, NO! They had to go back for more! lol
Then we got to the town of Cheticamp. We spotted this gorgeous church and had to stop. What a beautiful site.
The organ was amazing, I only wish we could have heard it.
This is a view from the balcony of the church. It is truly breathtaking.

These are pictures from along the Cabot Trail.

We were driving along and suddenly see Mama moose and her baby! I just had to get out of the car and take a picture. I was literally standing just on the other side of the guard rail from them. I was a bit nervous because I know moose do charge. BUT, there were others that climbed over the guard rail to take pics.....a bit crazy I think! lol They are awesome to see that close though!
After driving for 10 hours, we arrived in the quaint town of Baddeck. We had a wonderful evening there. We walked down to the legion, they all had a couple beer, and we all played a bit of pool. Then we went back to our hotel restaurant and enjoyed an exquisite meal with a very talented gentleman playing guitar and singing.
This is the view off our balcony at the hotel.

The restaurant at the hotel.
We then went for a walk and went to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum. Wow, I never realised how much Mr. Bell had invented, and all that he taught. I was seriously amazed and would love to go back there soon! Below is a picture of the lighthouse in Baddeck. This is the lake that Alexander Graham Bell's airplane first flew over in the dead of winter. I believe it was the first flight in Canada.
Thank you so much for dropping by and sharing this time with me! I just had such a fabulous time. My husband was so patient with all of us, and stopped wherever we wanted. I am very lucky to have him in my life! It was an awesome time for all of us!

Have a great evening!
