Believe in the Magic!

I am really loving all the Tim Holtz stamps, especially all the Christmas sets. Tomorrow evening is the last class at Photo Memories in Halifax, and this is one of the cards we will be making. Val and I are teaching this class together. She has a card that she is teaching, then we are teaching a shoe together. Val’s shoe is in the store, mine is here at home! I will post it tomorrow. The class will be a blast as we are making it a bit of a party! There will be giveaways, home baked goodies, chocolate, and punch! We hope to see you there!

Stampotiquebling

I used Angelboy, Mistletoe, Small word star, and Merry Kiss-mas. The background is done with Distress inks. Angelboy was stamped and embossed, coloured with Distress inks and then cut out. All other stamps were stamped with Distress inks, and then I added tons of stickles so my card would be blinged!! lol

Thank you so much for stopping by, and I can’t wait to see your creations for this challenge!

Monday

Congratulations to Mike, Jen and Zachary!

This is the card I made for my son and his family! Zachary is my first grandchild, and he is so beautiful! I wanted to make something special to congratulate them all!

I just love Webster’s Pages papers. I cut the paper so the carriage would be the focus. Then I cut some of the flowers and layered them on the left corner. I cut out the butterflies from another piece of paper and layered them, so they look like they are flying off the paper. Then I started looking for the perfect sentiment, which I found!  The sentiment is from Quietfire Design. I used Nestibilities for the top layer, and traced the outside layer and cut. I then added a couple embellishments from the Tim Holtz line. Sometimes you make a card and you like it, but then you make one you love. Well, this is one of my favorites, I love it!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I do have some more cards to share with you, but still need to take pictures. I will do that today or tomorrow.

Here is a more recent picture of Zachary!

Stampers Anonymous Jesters

I made this card a while back, but never shared it on my blog. I just love Stampers Anonymous stamps and don’t often get a chance to play with them. I used their Art background stamp in the background in a couple different colours, the arches, which I cut out, and the jesters that we cut out and layered as well. It really was a fast and fun card to make.

Cards for Class at Photo Memories

I wanted to share a couple cards with you that were made for a class at Photo Memories. We did another card as well, but I had already shown it on my blog.  This was a beginners class, but I wanted to show them how to make more than just the normal fold card. We did a gatefold card and an easel card. They enjoyed the class.

Anyway, here are the photos:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The above card is made with Hero Arts stamps. The house is coloured with Copic Markers.

The above is the outside of the card, below is the inside. We used all Tim Holtz stamps. We also used Lotus Pendant from Nestibilities, and Tim’s awesome ticket die with coordinating stamps! Love that! This was a fun card to make!

I had a blast making this card! I did a step card, with a background on the back of the card. I used a few of Martha’s gorgeous punches, Basic Grey Eerie paper from last year, and all stamps are from Stampotique!

Here is a list and direct links to the stamps that I used:

I am happy to say that Jen is doing well, she was in labour for 40 hours though, so she is beat, and needs some rest!  Jen’s Mom is at the house for a while to help out a bit, so that is wonderful. Mike was able to take a few days off work, and spend time with Jen and Zachary.

I will post more pictures as they come! I have been so excited, telling everyone about my grandson, and showing his picture to everyone willing to look!  I make myself laugh, but hey, this is all part of being a Grandma!!

Have a wonderful day everyone!!

I really do love snowmen!

I love this time of year. Starting to make Christmas cards, or winter cards I guess you could say. Snowmen just make me smile, they are just fun! Brings back memories of being a kid and making snowmen. I remember going in the house and sneaking out hats, mittens, scarves, carrots, and raisins. I guess I wasn’t a very good sneak though, my Mom always knew what was going on, and always had a big smile when we dragged her outside to check out our snowmen!

Anyway, here is my card for today. This is the last card for my class at Photo Memories.

I just can’t tell you how pretty I think these Bo Bunny Christmas papers are! The colors are awesome!!

Bo Bunny Christmas

Hello there,

I guess it is time to start thinking about making Christmas cards! Have you seen the new Bo Bunny Christmas papers? I am loving the funky colours of this new line. I did these cards for a beginner class I am teaching at Photo Memories. There is one more card, but I am not quite finished.

Anyway, here are a couple of the cards we will be making.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA This card is super sparkly IRL. I couldn’t capture that in a photo for some reason.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I just love Christmas stockings. I was so tempted to do more with this stamp, but realise there is only so much time in a class, and we will be making 3 cards.

I have another baby bump picture to share with you! I really love this photo with both Jen and Mikes hands on her belly!

Wishes and Kisses Pendant Card

Good Evening,

Last night I had 4 of the local lady stampers over for a night of card making.  I say card making because really, there wasn’t much stamping involved.  The cards we made the snowflake card a few posts down, I didn’t make another, I just showed how I made it.  Then there was this card, which is a bit of a remake of a card I made last year. It was fun that everyone put their own spin on it, used different papers, colours, and they all turned out so beautiful.

We had such a great time, visiting, crafting and of course EATING! I borrowed Val’s pampered chef Bundt cake pan, and made the yummiest chocolate cake with cherries in it.  The best thing of all, it took 20 minutes to bake in the microwave!!  When it was done and cooled a bit, we ate it with some cool whip….oh yeah…It was delicious!  I can’t really take much credit though, it’s Val’s recipe, and she also brought the cake mix..I just supplied the cherry pie filling!!Ok…onto the card…lol

Fleurdeslistimpaper [50%]

We used the Fleur de Lis pendant from Spellbinders, and a border as well, but I can’t remember which one is it at the moment.  I used a piece of patterned paper from one of Tim Holtz’s paper pads! OMGosh, I love his paper pads! Then I used white shimmer paper for the rest of the card. The center brad is a K and Co. brad, and the crystals are swarovsky. They are so beautiful and so sparkly.

Have a wonderful evening, and thank you so much for stopping by!

SDC16 – Vintage (Stampotique Challenge)

Woohoo….it's time for another Stampotique Designer's Challenge!  This week Milo is our hostess and she has challenged the design team to create a project with a VINTAGE theme (using Stampotique stamps only).  Be sure to join in the fun and link up your creation at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog for a chance to win a $30 gift certificate to the Stampotique shop!!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

For my card I started with cheap white cardstock, embossed my images in black, then sprayed everything with a couple different colours of Smooch spray. I dried it a bit with my heat gun, then added some black enamel glossy accent to the heart in the sentiment, and to the dots on the house. I then added some clear glossy to the hearts at the top of the card and windows on the house. Then a bit of stickles to the flowers, and a touch of grey on the house using Copic markers. The flower is from Prima…yummm…gotta love their flowers.  All stamps are available at Stampotique. If you click on the words below, you will be taken directly to the stamp.

Thank you for stopping by, and I sure hope we see your creation over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog!

White on White

Tonight was our get together for our stamping group.  The challenge for this month was to do a white on white card. I had an idea in my head, and no matter how many times I tried, I could NOT make it work. I wanted to do some stamping on the card, but it just wasn’t meant to be. So, you are stuck with a non-stamped card! lol It’s so funny, half of us didn’t stamp and the other half did. I did cheat a tiny bit, I used 5 gems, they are clear and not white…but no one said a thing! lol  The papers are bling and pearl, so in real life the whole card is so sparkly and shimmery.

Wishes and Kisses

Hello again,

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I just bought the Lotus Pendant the other day, I wasn’t going to, but I finally caved!  I decided that I would like to give Becca’s medallion a try, and this is my first attempt.  I just love the frilly look of the medallion.  It is a bit fiddly, but I can see myself making more cards like this for some of my local friends.  I think the card wouldn’t fair well in the mail.  The ornament stamp is from JustRite, the sentiment is an older set from Anna Griffin, border punch is Martha Stewart, and tag is from Spellbinders.

Thank you so much for stopping by today,

:)

SDC15 – Stampotique Challenge – Birthday

Hi again,

This weeks challenge theme over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog is Birthday.  So make a birthday card and enter the challenge.  You can use any stamps this week, but if you have some Stampotique Originals stamps, we would love to see you use them.  If you enter the challenge, you will be in the draw for a $30 gift certificate from Stampotique Originals.

Here is my contribution for the challenge:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I stamped and embossed all the images on the Kraft cardstock, then coloured in with Copic Markers. Simple but fun!

Stamps used are:  Crown, Cat, Sentiment, Edwin, Folded Tags.  If you click on any of the stamp names, you will be taken directly to the page they are on.

Have a wonderful day, and hopefully we will see your wonderful creations over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge blog!

Thank you for stopping by,

Live your Life

Well, hello there!

I have finally gotten a bit of stamping done, and have a card to share with you today.  I just bought the Tim Holtz Hanging Sign die and had a play with it.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I used Grunge Paper through the die and distressed it with Distress inks.  The background paper is from a 6 x 6 pad of Webster’s Pages, LOVE that paper! The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts in the UK, if you haven’t checked out their flowers…omgosh, you are really missing out!  Stamps used are a flourish from Impression Obsession, and the sentiment from Daisy Bucket. Oh, almost forgot to tell you, I got a new toy, it’s called Distrezz-it-All!  That it what I used for the edges of the card.  You just put it in the slot, and it does the distressing for you, fast and easy!  I have to say, it’s VERY noisy though!

I know this is a bit different for me, but I kind of like the way it turned out.  I will be posting another card tonight, for the Stampotique challenge that starts tomorrow.  Hope you come back and check it out.

Have a wonderful day!

Stampotique SDC#14- Non-Girly Girl Card

This week over at Stampotique Designer’s Challenge, it is Kaz’s turn to pick the theme.  Here is what she wrote:

This month my eldest niece turns 16, but she's not your typical glittery shoes and handbags card kind of girl. In fact I bought my first Stampotique stamp, Moth Fab, for a card for her on a previous birthday as it is so her and I became hooked on them and here I am a year later on the DT! So I would like to see some (not so) sweet 16 cards for non-girly girls please!

This is a Stampotique Originals only week,
if you do not own any Stampotique Stamps yet, please join us the first Wednesday of the month for our any stamps goes challenge.

There is also some awesome news!  Carol and Jim, the owners of Stampotique Originals, have decided to give away a $25.00 Gift Certificate for each challenge now!  Woohoooo!!!

Here is my card:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I guess I took the theme a bit differently than the other design team members, but that’s ok…dare to be different right? lol  Stamps used are:

Twinkie, Daisy, Daisy, Splatter Long, French Text, and finally, Pull my Finger.

Thank you for stopping by today, and I hope you have time to play in this week’s challenge!

Back to Basics

I decided to make a few cards using inks only, no embossing!  I wanted to just make some cards that are fun and easy.  So, this is what I came up with.

Light up my life

Well hello there!

I made a tri-shutter card I think they are called.  I have to say, it was easy, but I think I am a bit of a lazy stamper, or card maker!  I don’t seem to get out of my box often. All my cards tend to be square, I think I am boring!  I have had a talk with myself and decided I should really venture out and at least try some new layouts!  Hopefully I will really do it…

Now for the card:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I made this card for some very awesome friends…they have been such a wonderful support system, and I just think they are the best!  You know who you are!

I gold embossed a flourish from Inkadinkado on the patterned paper I used, then distressed it a bit before adhering it all to the actual card.  The sentiment was cut out with my Silhouette.  The main image is from Stampabilities.  I just stamped it in a burgundy ink and added lots of bling to it.

Have a wonderful evening,

:)

Tuesday

Thank you…and some news!

I bought this stamp a few weeks ago, and almost returned it.  After I got it home I decided maybe it just wasn’t my style.  A couple nights ago, I started playing, and decided I love this stamp!  I stamped with versamark, then embossed with detail white powder.  I used a sponge and distress inks to colour inside the image, the excess wiped off easily with a paper towel.  The Thank you is from Hero Arts, the background stamp is from SU.  The tag is a nestibility, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid in the UK.  I was so excited to get this box of flowers!  I have wanted them for so long, and finally decided to just do it!  They were here in 1 week!  How’s that for service… awesome!!!

2010 Cards 021 [50%]

I have had some wonderful news lately and thought it was time I shared!  I had a phone call just a while back, it was my oldest son Mike, telling me that he and his girlfriend are expecting a child!!  You can only imagine how excited I was!  My first grandchild!  2 weeks later I get a phone call from my youngest son Shawn, and he and his girlfriend are expecting a child as well!  OMGOSH!  2 grandchildren in one  year!!!  How happy am I?  lol    I couldn’t be happier with all this wonderful and exciting news!  The babies are due October 20th and December 7th.  Mike and Jen had an ultrasound done to find out the sex of the baby, and it’s a BOY!  Shawn and Brittany want to be surprised, so I will be patient! lol

I am going to finally have the surgery I have been waiting for!  It’s on Friday, and I will be in the hospital for 3 or 4 days, then home to rest, relax and heal for about 8 weeks.  I know this is going to be a huge help for me, and I will finally be able to go back to work.  I have been off since mid December.

I am also going to school.  I started in February, and am taking Medical Transcription.  It is a year long course, and I am really enjoying it.  I am a bit ahead and will be writing my mid-term at the end of the month.  So far I am doing very well.  I am hoping I can keep it up, as I would love to graduate with high honours!  Wish me luck!!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I will try to get some cards made and posted in the next few weeks, but that will really depend on how I am feeling.  I hope you will stop by and check often!

Have a wonderful day!

:)

Stampotique Designers Challenge – What summer means to you

This week over at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog the theme is “What summer means to you.”  I decided to have some fun and used a Stampotique frog, and some flowers!  You see lots of those during the summer season. All stamps are from Stampotique

Ok, now a funny….it was my friend Val’s birthday today, and when I was making this card, I was giggling, thinking it would be perfect for her, being the Diva she is.  We always try to outdo each other with bling, she once gave me a card with 17 crystals on it!  So this year I decided I was going to break her record big time!  I put a ton of pearls on this card, and knew she was going to crack up when she saw how many there were!  I was right, she just laughed when she saw it, and now is trying to figure out how she is going to top this!!  Happy Birthday Val!!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

If you have a chance, we would love to see your summer creation over at the Stampotique designers challenge blog!  You can use any stamps this week, and you have a chance to win a 15 dollar gift certificate from Stampotique!!

Have a wonderful evening, and thank you so much for stopping by!

Friendship

I made this card a couple nights ago, and really enjoyed making it.  I used a brayer, and it’s been a long time since I pulled that baby out!

I just adore this stamp from Stampotique Originals.  I also used a little flower stamp from Stampotique for the sun. If you can’t read the saying, it goes: Life is nothing without friendship.  How true that is.

Please remember, this week's challenge is a Stampotique Originals only week! So get out your stamps and play with us! You could win free rubber from Stampotique!  If you play along and put your card on Splitcoast, please use SDC8 on your card so we can find your card easily!

Have a Magical Day…

Hello there,

I actually made this card awhile back and am just getting to upload it today.  The main image and sentiment are from Sweet Pea stamps.  They are just so much fun to colour.  I used my Copic Markers, and when the card was all assembled, I sprayed a bit of Smooch irredescent spray all over.  It’s very sparkly and shiny IRL.

Stampotique Designers Challenge – Use a template

It's time for another Stampotique Designers Challenge! Don't worry if you don't have any Stampotique stamps yet! Now's your opportunity to join our challenge using any stamps that inspire your creativity for a chance to win a $15 Stampotique gift certificate!

This week, Valerie Wilson challenges you to use a template for any part of your project (the card, something on the card, whatever) - or it doesn't have to be a card at all. If the mood strikes you to use a template that makes a box or a baggie or some other interesting project, please go for it! Let your creative muse guide you wherever it wants to go!

I decided to use my Silhouette to cut out a box with a belly band.  I used all Stampotique Originals stamps, honeycomb, happy, and smiling sun. I first stamped and embossed the honeycomb pattern with clear embossing powder.  I then sponged on different colours of Momento inks to create a resist.

This is how it turned out:
