My Boys

I know I don't usually post personal pictures, but I just wanted to share some pictures of my boys with you! They are both on the west coast for Christmas this year, so I didn't get to see them, but, I did get photos! YEAH! Thank goodness for internet and digital cameras! lol Anyway, Mike is on the left, he is my oldest, and Shawn is on the right! I am just so proud of my boys! My Dad's wife is also in the pic there! My youngest is a real ham...he loves posing for pics! LOL, as you can tell! lol The oldest hates getting his picture taken....it's a rarity actually to get a picture of him without his hand in front of his face! lol

I hope everyone had a wonderful day yesterday, and that you are enjoying the day today!

A few more Christmas Cards

These are the last of my Christmas cards for this year. I made alot of duplicates, so there isn't much to show! lol It seems like I have been making them forever though, plus cards for classes. I am so ready to move onto regular cards! lol...All my Christmas stamps are boxed up for the year now....kinda sad, but I am ready to move on! lol Hope you are all doing well! Sorry I haven't posted much lately! Been busy with my man home again, and getting things ready for the holiday season!!

Paper Piercing Christmas Cards

Last night I decided to do a few paper piercing cards, so I did the piercing then assembled them today. The Merry Christmas stamp is from A Stamp in the Hand, and one of my favorites! I did them in silver and white, and gold and cream. I am thinking of doing some in pink and brown, burgundy and gold as well. The papers I have used are all shimmer c/s so they are nice and shimmery!

Thanks for looking!!!

Finally, we have tunes again! lol....Thank you too....well, you know who you are, you are the best!!!! I have been trying to add some of my favorites, but if you have some you would like to hear, let me know and I will try finding them and add them to the playlist! I am hoping there is something in there for everyone! lol

Off to stamp some more Christmas cards....lol...but at least I have music now! lol

Tuesday

Thank you Anne!!!

I feel like the luckiest stamper right now! lol...I received this incredible stamp from Anne today, and had to use it right away! Isn't she just gorgeous? This card is a fast one and doesn't do the face justice, but I was so excited and had to make SOMETHING with it! lol....Thank you so much Anne! You made my day!! :)

Another Artful Stamper Christmas Card

I had bought this stamp last Christmas, and had never used it until now. Not really sure about the colours I used, probably because I rarely use blue or red, so it's a bit out of my comfort zone. Going to try it in a few more colours and see which I like best. Image stamped on Marl paper, and layered, painted in with watercolour brush, using ink from Tombows as paint. Lots of glitter on here, but it doesn't show well! lol Off to stamp some more!!

Have a great evening Ladies!!
Thanks for visiting!!

More Cute Cards!

OMGOSH! I have no idea what has come over me! What is it about these cute stamps that makes me want them?? LOL...I was in New Glasgow teaching a class yesterday, then of course had to go shopping afterwards, and most of the stamps I picked out were Amuse. I did get some clear stamps from Autumn Leaves (Swirls) and one Noel postage stamp. Got a ton of papers, and some of the StazOn Opaque inks, that I have yet to try. Then I bought one of the scalloped punches, that I swore I would never buy! Well, pretty much said that about cutesy stamps as well, and look at me now? I think the appeal of making some fast cards intrigued me, but honestly, I can not make a fast card for the life of me! I tried just stamping on the paper, then just one layer, but no, I have to do more layers...then I have to add background papers, and some kind of ribbon....needless to say, they are not fast cards! Why can't I be one of those people that can just slap a card together in no time?? LOL But that's ok, I know some of my friends would rather get one of these cards than one of the more artsy or vintage ones!

Anyway, excuse my blabbing tonight....think I have been alone to long! LOL...I am now having a one way conversation with my computer! LOL....Here are a couple of the cards I did today. My scanner leaves lines on white or light colours, but in person it's just white bazzill paper. One day I really will learn how to use my camera and be able to post better pics! lol

I am going to make some vintage Christmas cards tomorrow, so hope to have more to post then!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Got Mistletoe?

I just made this card for a friend and am going to give it to her tomorrow, so I think I am safe in putting it up here tonight! Stamps are from Paper Salon. I don't normally do really cutesy cards, but this I can't seem to resist! lol...There is actually some glitter in the center of the snowflakes, and glitter pen around all the edges, but you can't see that in the scan. The card has a tiara on it cause we all call my friend Princess! LOL Anyway, just wanted to share a cute card with you all!

Have a great evening everyone!!

I've Been Tagged!

I have been tagged! lol...Thanks Audrey, now I get to share all my weirdness with you all! LOL..scary!

I am supposed to tell 6 weird things about myself, and tag 6 people as well. So some of my weird things are:

1. I get lost in parking lots, and no matter how hard I try to find my car afterwards, I never actually find it right away, it's always after panicking for awhile and searching! I always try to leave in the same door I came out of, but I still can't find my car. It's a panic thing for me, my heart starts racing as soon as I know it's time to go! So if you ever see me wondering aimlessly around the parking lot, I am not casing cars....lol...just looking for my own!

2. If I am driving anywhere out of the city limits, I have to have a FULL tank of gas? Even if it's just 20 minutes away! lol I just always think, oh no, what if I break down and it's cold, I need the heat, or what if I get lost (which I do all the time), then I will need all that gas! lol

3. I snore. Nope, not just a cute little sigh in and out, full out HONKING snore! My husband tells me I belong in hunt camp with the guys, he says I would win any snoring contest with any man hands down! lol...When my first son was born, I was in a ward with 3 other ladies, and the nurses kept coming in and waking me up every 20-30 minutes, telling me I was snoring to loud and the other ladies couldn't sleep! LOL....I had my own room the next day, and when they saw me coming in with my second pregnancy, they gave me my own room right away! lol...I am laughing saying this, but it's awfully embarassing actually. I don't like sleeping anywhere but home because of this.

4. Every morning for breakfast I have to have my Bran Flakes, skim milk, and splenda. It doesn't matter what's offered to me, I just want my Bran Flakes! LOL I get downright cranky if I don't have them too! LOL Kinda like others drink coffee...and don't get their fix in the morning!

5. I can't create in a messy space. I always have to clean it up right after I am finished. It's like it clutters my creativity? Or perhaps I am just anal retentive? lol....you pick..lol (be nice Holly..lol)

6. Clowns SCARE me! People dressed as clowns, clown dolls, they all really creep me out!

Ok, there is a taste of how weird I am! lol....I am now tagging the following people so they can share their weirdness as well! lol No pressure ladies.....hmmmm....oh come on, you know you want to though! lol

Flowers, Jaqueline, Barbara, NormaB, Rein, and lastly Paula.

Thank you Audrey for instructions on how to post the clickable links! And for tagging me, this was fun!

Thursday

Allegro

I just did this card up tonight. The focal image is from Stampington, the Holly leaves are from Peddlers Pack, and the verse is from A Stamp in the Hand. I stamped the holly leaves with light brown ancient page, then overstamped with the Mica Magic Antique Gold, but it doesn't show well in the scan. It does have a nice shimmer on it though. Just trying to get a few more Christmas cards done, then will decide on the ones I will make more of....fun fun! I made another card today but can't share it! The person it's going to always reads my blog and I want to surprise her! lol..Will post some more cards tomorrow when they are finished! lol

Have a great evening Ladies!

Christmas Scene

I just bought this stamp today and I just love it! It's from Peddlers Pack. I stamped and embossed with black, then did a wash over it with the Twinkling H2O's. I then added stickles so it sparkles where there is supposed to be snow or frost. I think this is going to be one of my Christmas cards to give out this year. I wasn't sure about the pink ribbon, but it does match the background, so I picked up some purple ribbon to go with the purple c/s instead of the background. You can click on the card to see it bigger. It's all on a black card, but you can't tell because of the blackground of my blog! lol TFL Ladies!! And thank you for leaving comments! You all make me smile!!!!! :)

The last card for Class

My last card for the classes I am teaching in New Glasgow! This stamp is from Artful Stamper, lots of sparkle, and just fun! lol TFL!!

Monday

Elegant Christmas Card Swap

This is the card I made for an Elegant Christmas Card swap. This scan doesn't give the true look of the card, as the medallion and word Peace show up alot more in person. Photostamp is from The Stampsmith, I just love Estelles stamps!!! I find it so hard to get a good scan of the photostamps though, and my picture taking is awful! lol...So this is as good as it gets! lol

Thanks for looking ladies!!
Have a great evening!

Resist Card

I know I haven't posted any cards for awhile, just been busy with life, and my Muse took a little vacation too! lol Anyway, this card is for a resist swap I am in. Just wanted to share something, as it's been too long since I have posted! lol Excuse my terrible cropping on this card! lol

Happy Holidays

This is one of the cards I made today. I just loved the retro look of the circle stamp. I think it's a new stamp, and it's from Stampendous. I used alot of glittering, sparkly embossing powders..lol..it's for Christmas, any excuse hey? lol

TFL Ladies!

More Christmas Cards

Morning! lol

Here are a couple more Christmas cards that I have done in the past little while. I tried to take pics cause they are 3d, and you lose that in scans, but I have to say, I really need to learn how to use my camera properly! lol....So, back to scanning! lol..my scanner leaves shadows on white, so excuse the lines!...you will get the general idea!

I taught a class yesterday, and it was awesome! The ladies cards all turned out so beautifully, they seemed very happy with them, and they all seemed to have fun! I love it when a class goes smoothly! After class, I had to go shopping, and came home with some great new goodies! I am going to play all day today! lol

Have you all seen the papers from Cosmo Cricket? Well, if you haven't, check them out! I just love the "WANTED" line! I picked up the collection yesterday, and some extras that I know I will use alot.

http://www.cosmocricket.com

And the new Stampers Anonymous stamps are very cool! Especially some of Tim's newer ones! And the size of them...wow...huge! I picked up the Paris map, and it's huge! Will way more than cover the standard cardfront! They are like the Stampin' Up! background size! It's nice to buy a background stamp that actually fills the whole background! lol

Well, have a great day everyone! Hoping to have more to post this afternoon!!
Thanks for dropping by!

Tuesday

Happy Halloween

Ok, I have to admit, I have never made a Halloween card before! lol...I even had to borrow a stamp to do one! (Thanks Mindy!). So here is the card I made....I had a hard time even making this! This scan isn't the best, the colours aren't true.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN everyone! Have a spooktacular day!

:)

Friday

New Santa Stamp

I just received this Santa stamp and played with it a bit today. You can't tell in the scan but there is a light touch of pink in his cheeks and lips, shows up in person! lol...

Thanks for looking ladies!

Hope your having a wonderful day!

Sunday

I'm back!

Hi Everyone!

I am finally back I think! lol....we have gotten all moved, everything is hooked up, and my stamping room is awesome! Lots of light, and much more room! Yesterday a g/f came over and we spent the afternoon stamping! I have been making cards for classes I am teaching in New Glasgow, but I made one card yesterday just because! lol....The fairy stamp is from The Stamping Ground, sentiment from Stampers Anonymous. I stamped her on glossy, then used phototwin marker with watercolor paint brush to paint her in. I don't know why I cut it oval, I wish I hadn't, but I guess it turned out alright? Anyway, I just wanted to have something to share with you all! Lol...I have neglected my blog for a couple weeks, and want to get back into the swing of things!

Thanks for visiting ladies, and for all your wonderful comments! I sure enjoy looking at all your blogs as well! Thank you for sharing!!

Have a wonderful day!

Winged Things Swap

Urgh....these looked so cool in my head, and now that I have made 2 of each of these, I am not thinking I like them so much! lol.. What can you do! I am hosting a swap for winged things cards, and I just wanted to try something different! I still think they look a bit bare? Do they need something else? Let me know if you have any suggestions!! TFL!!

Monday

Best Friends

I had the hardest time putting this card together! It took a couple days? lol....I haven't been stamping much, but I did get my room all cleaned and organized! So now maybe I will feel like stamping more! I am going to do a bit tonight, so maybe I will have something else to post then!
TFL Ladies!!!

Wednesday

Naughty/Nude Swap

I made this card for a swap I hosted called Naughty/Nude Swap. The cards were wonderful! I am thinking everyone had alot of fun doing them! I sure did! I really like the bright vivid colors on this card. Will upload more later today! TFL!

Saturday

Saturday Challenge!

Before I go do a few things and start stamping, I thought I would issue a challenge to anyone who checks my blog today! lol....Use a stamp you have never used before! I know we all have plenty of those in our stashes! So lets see what we can do! I will be doing this today and will upload my card when it's done!

Have fun Ladies!!!

Update: I am so bad! It's Wednesday now and I have finally finished my card for Saturday! lol...What can I say...I just wasn't inspired!

This stamp was given to me by my best friend Holly, for my birthday in June! And I hadn't used it yet! So here is my card! The image is from Rubber Romance, I just love their Diva images!

Friday

Every Step you take...

Another card using Paperbag Studios and Purple Onion Designs, kinda meant to go along with the baby shoes and card! Same color theme anyway! Just thought I would share with you!

Back to stamping!

Just playing around...

I know I should try the Faux Postage technique, but for now this is as far as I will get! LOL...The main stamp is from Stampland, and the letter as well. Background from SU, and numbers from Ma Vinci! Not my usual colors to work with, as you can probably tell by now! But it was fun to make! TFL!!!

Sweet Pea Card and Mary Jane Shoes

I decided to try something I have never done before! Work with a dimensional template! lol...It was alot easier than I thought it would be! The shoes are from a template by Stampington. The Sweet Pea card is done using main image from Paperbag Studios, and Purple Onion Designs. The shoes are done with K. and Co. papers and Purple Onion Designs paisley stamp. And of course Primas! Gotta love those flowers! lol... I submitted this set to a magazine for a Baby theme, but it wasn't used. I have to admit I am getting very discouraged, but in all honesty, the magazine I had been submitting to doesn't have alot of stamping in it, and is more a cutesy style. I have submitted a huge envelope to Stampington though, am hoping they might think some of my work may be good enough for one of their magazines? I guess you just never know until you try, right? lol I think as a stamper, this is one of the hardest things to do, submit! Any words of wisdom from anyone? Any hints or tips? lol

Thanks Ladies!

Thursday

Some of my favorite cards and Atc's.

I was just going thru my scans, and found these cards, they are some of my favorites, so I thought I would share with you! I stamped a few things today, but haven't finished any of them yet! I ended up goofing around on the computer! Guess I should finish up those cards soon! lol I am doing a small series, of Cowgirl/Cowboy cards! They are fun cards! Hopefully they will be uploaded this evening!

Hope your all having an inspiring day today!

Wednesday

I just couldn't sleep tonight!

Well, I tried to go to sleep...my body is tired, but my mind just doesn't want to stop, so I finally got up and did a bit of stamping! Maybe now I will be able to sleep! I think I best stop reading stamping magazines in bed....LOL They just get me thinking and planning what I want to try the next day.....and I can't sleep! I am turning into a night owl! So here is what I did come up with tonight...the main image is from Stampsmith, it's a photostamp. Background is the most awesome scrapbook paper from Cosmo Cricket...I LOVE this stuff! Then I used a scroll from Purple Onion Designs and the sentiment is from SU! I am off to bed....sweet dreams to everyone!

Monday

Thank you!

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to thank the people that come to look at my blog and to those who leave comments! It's all very much appreciated!! It's so nice to hear what others think of your work....

I am hoping to get some stamping done this afternoon, so hopefully I will be posting some more cards later today!

Thanks Everyone!!!!!!

Friday

My First Scrapbook Page

On one of the groups there was a challenge issued to make a scrapbook page about yourself. So I thought about it, and figured, why not! lol....I have never scrapbooked before, and this was a huge challenge! That is alot of space to cover! lol Anyway, here is my page, the colors didn't scan properly and I did end up inking the edges but haven't rescanned yet...maybe later! Be gentle with me.....remember it's my first! lol I think I am going to be sticking to stamping though, I find it alot more relaxing.

Wednesday

Ever make a card you just aren't sure about?

Well, I do it all the time! lol...But today I did this card, and have honestly redone it about 3 times! Sometimes I just don't know when to leave well enough alone! lol....This was done for a magazine challenge. We were asked to pick out any card out of a stamping magazine and do our own take on the card. Now, the only thing this card seems to have in common with the one I picked out anymore, is the ribbon on the bottom, and the color scheme! lol...That is how much I have changed it! And to top it all off, I thought I would try my hand at stitching again, and I didn't have the same luck! Oh well, I did try to cover up my biggest mistakes! LOL

Does everyone else experience this? Or do I just get to carried away with trying to make things perfect and then they get ruined? LOL

Have a great evening!! :)
Kim

Saturday

I Miss You

I have been missing my best friend Holly so much, that I thought I would make her a card tonight! It's been awhile since I have sent her anything, and she has been spoiling me with her beautiful cards lately! So it's time! lol I also am doing a challenge with a lady from another board and the challenge was to use the main image stamp, by Paperbag Studios! So I made 2 cards pretty much the same, just the sentiment is different! I have been in a bit of a rut lately...trying to pull myself out and start creating more often! Urgh....I guess it happens to everyone! lol Have a great long weekend everyone!!

Wednesday

Queens Dresser Drawers

I was lucky enough to get a few stamps from this company, and I just LOVE them! I submitted them to a magazine under a certain theme, but the theme is not going to happen now, so I thought I would share the cards with you! I had alot of fun making them! And they are gorgeous stamps!! Can't wait to get more! lol The backgrounds were done with Purple Onion Designs and Stampin' UP! I have a few more done with these stamps sent out for submissions! I hope they do get in!

Monday

Christmas Card Classes

Wow, time does fly doesn't it? Already it's time to start thinking of Christmas cards!! These are some of the cards I will be teaching in classes up in New Glasgow at the Scrapbook Depot. We aren't quite sure of the dates yet, but you check the website for updates, link is on the right of my blog! All main image stamps are from Artful Stamper. The Christmas Bauble won't be taught this season as it was done last year, but wanted to keep the sample up for other classes I am teaching! There are a couple more cards to come for The Scrapbook Depot, we will be doing 2 classes of Artful Stamper Christmas cards! I will upload them when I am finished making them!

I have been noticing people posting their Christmas cards already, so I guess I best get with it and get my own started! I always say I will do them early, then end up rushing to get them done towards the end of November! lol....Hopefully this year I will get them done earlier than that! lol
