Toddler Photo Challenge Card

We had a contest on ink-stains, we had to make a card using a toddler photo of ourself. Then everyone had to guess who they were! It was alot of fun! It was alot harder than I thought it would be to guess them all though, took awhile for someone to win! lol Anyway, this is the card I made using one of my toddler pics! lol

Card for DH

I made this card for my wonderful Husband! I just got a new plate from Third Coast, and wow, they are beautiful stamps! I can't wait to play with ALL of them! lol...This one is stamped on polished stone. The layer under the polished stone is actually silver mirror paper, but the scanner doesn't pick that up. Nothing fancy, but this is more hubby's style! I just love this stamp, she is so beautiful.

More Bella cards

Well, I really need to get some more of these cards made as I am teaching a class using the Bella stamps in April! I really can't tell you how cute I think these images are! lol..They just make me smile. BUT, I tell ya, I have a really hard time with stamps like these. They make me think WAY outside my box. Anyway, here are 2 of the cards I made yesterday with the Bella's! The shopping Bella card looks awful in the scan, but my camera and I are NOT friends right now! lol..So the scan will have to do til I get a decent picture, which could be never! LOL I did both these images with Prismacolor Pencils and Gamsol. Still need some practice with this technique, but they sure look better than the first ones I did! LOL

Love is in the Air Swap

I recently hosted a "Love is in the Air" swap, and this is the card I made for it. The heart flourish is from Artful Stamper, a Canadian company. I really love this flourish! And the main image is from Stampsmith. I wanted the image to look old, so I tried to use images that didn't come out perfectly, and distressed them, and pounced a cap from a bottle into the distress inks and stamped that in the corner. The cards that I received in this swap were amazing! Will post them later if I have everyones permission!

Love is in the Air.....

This is another card I made for Valentines. I took a couple cards into work the other day, and had people ask me to make cards for them to give to their mates, so I had a busy weekend making Valentine cards! Sheesh, I still have to make a special one for my man! lol

This card was cased from a card I received in a swap. The maker of the original card is Sherry Graves. Her card was so beautiful, I just had to make some like it! Thanks Sherry! It's such a cute card to give to a man at Valentines!!

Happy Valentines!

Just wanted to wish you all a Happy Valentines Day! I know I am a bit early, but I have a busy few days ahead of me and didn't want to forget! This is one of the Valentine cards I made this year, will upload more this afternoon! It was hard to get a good scan or picture of this card because of all the glitter in the hearts, but you get the idea! I just love this stamp! The word love is from The Stampsmith, and I can't remember where the heart tree is from, it's an unmounted stamp! Sorry! lol

Cuttlebug Background Card

Morning Ladies!

I bought the Cuttlebug awhile back and just played with it! I have a box of little things I have cut out, and papers I have embossed. So I thought it was time I actually used something on a card! LOL

I had to do a card with sewing on it for a challenge, and I decided to use the Divine Swirl background with this card. I am not sure it really goes together, but I wasn't feeling the best! LOL I have a few days off in a row starting tomorrow, so I hope to get alot of stamping done!!!

John Wayne Card

This was the final challenge on one of the boards I am on. We had to find out where our partner was from, and my partner was in Iowa. Then we had to do some research and make a card pertaining to their state. Well, as I was surfing I found out that John Wayne (The Duke) was born in Iowa, so I decided to make a card using a pic of him! Not much stamping, just the cowboy boots in the background, but it was fun to make!

Stamping Bella Cards

Well, most of you know I don't do cutesy much, BUT, these stamps are just too cute not to use! LOL Mindy sent me some of the Bella stamps so I could do some cards for samples and clasess. I have more but they aren't quite put together yet, so will add them later! I just inked a vertical pallette stamp with the Sea Shells inks, and overstamped with the black. I did try coloring with my pencil crayons, but it just wasn't me! I will finish off one of those cards later.

Challenge Card

It seems the only time I am posting cards lately is when there is a challenge! I must get with it and stamp more! I do want to stamp, just somehow always end up doing something else....urgh....what can I say! lol

This weeks challenge was to stamp on patterned paper. I love doing that, so I had fun with this one! All stamps are Paperbag Studios, except the background, it's Stampin'Up!. I really wanted to do more layers, but this time I stopped myself! LOL....I just have a thing for lots of layers, my card seems bare to me without them. I don't think doing less layering will last for long...lol

Heart Challenge

Ok, this started out totally different that what I started out with! lol....The challenge was to use a heart somewhere on the card. I tried everything and finally ended up just stamping a heart instead of punches or charms! There are alot of different stamp companies used on this card. The heart is from Paper Inspirations, Lips - Judikins, words are all from PaperArtsy, scrolls are from Autumn Leaves.

Pearlex Swap Card

This is the card I made for a Pearlex Swap I am in. Main image is Paper Inspirations, swirls are from Purple Onion, Live, Laugh, Love is from HA. To do the wings I just dipped my dove blender into the pearlex and colored. I also used my new Cuttlebug for the ribbon slide!

School Days

I am on a board that is having partner challenges, and we had to figure out a card making supply that we have in common, and the only thing we could find was a labelmaker and staples! LOL...So this is what I came up with! The stamps are all from Oxford Impressions, I just love their stamps! The background patterned paper is Cosmo Cricket...yummy...their papers are so delicious!!! lol

Bling Card

I just did this card for a Bling Challenge/Mingle on one of the boards I belong to (http://www.ink-stains.com). We have a challenge every week, and this time we are having a mingle with it as well. The bling on this card is on the woman's dress. All the hearts have clear glitter in them, and the prima flower has a rhinestone brad.

I don't know about everyone else, but I really struggle to get back into my stamping after Christmas. I mean we create so many different cards at Christmas, and it's a certain theme, now it's time to put that all away and carry on. Why I am having such a hard time getting back to it now? lol I am trying not to do what I usually do, try something different, maybe that's why. I just see so many different styles of cards and would love to try something else as well as what I normally do! lol Urgh....I can tell I will go back to my own thing very soon! LOL

Anyway, this is my contribution for the mingle! lol

Making some Cowboy/Cowgirl Cards

I pulled out some stamps today and just started playing! It's so strange, but after doing all the stamping leading up to Christmas, it was like a was having a stamping block! So these are some of my favorite stamps, and I thought I should start with these! I will upload more as I finish them off! I like these, they make me laugh! This card is a repeat of one I had made already...the others are new, but probably won't be up til tomorrow, unless I can't sleep tonight! lol

Stamps to give away!

Well, I had a laundry basket overflowing with stamps that I don't use anymore, so I sold quite a few online in the groups that I belong to. But I still have alot left! So, I unmounted the ones that are left, and thought it would be fun to give them away! I will just send them out in a regular mail envelope. So, how about a contest?

Yellow and Blue Challenge

On a stamping board I am on, they issued a challenge for a yellow and blue anniversary card. Those are 2 colours I don't' use really at all, especially yellow. So this is what I came up with. I don't like it, but at least I finished the challenge! LOL Another colour I don't like to work with is orange! Do you have any colours that just aren't you?? Share with us!

My Boys

I know I don't usually post personal pictures, but I just wanted to share some pictures of my boys with you! They are both on the west coast for Christmas this year, so I didn't get to see them, but, I did get photos! YEAH! Thank goodness for internet and digital cameras! lol Anyway, Mike is on the left, he is my oldest, and Shawn is on the right! I am just so proud of my boys! My Dad's wife is also in the pic there! My youngest is a real ham...he loves posing for pics! LOL, as you can tell! lol The oldest hates getting his picture taken....it's a rarity actually to get a picture of him without his hand in front of his face! lol

A few more Christmas Cards

These are the last of my Christmas cards for this year. I made alot of duplicates, so there isn't much to show! lol It seems like I have been making them forever though, plus cards for classes. I am so ready to move onto regular cards! lol...All my Christmas stamps are boxed up for the year now....kinda sad, but I am ready to move on! lol Hope you are all doing well! Paper Piercing Christmas Cards

Last night I decided to do a few paper piercing cards, so I did the piercing then assembled them today. The Merry Christmas stamp is from A Stamp in the Hand, and one of my favorites! I did them in silver and white, and gold and cream. I am thinking of doing some in pink and brown, burgundy and gold as well. The papers I have used are all shimmer c/s so they are nice and shimmery!

Another Artful Stamper Christmas Card

I had bought this stamp last Christmas, and had never used it until now. Not really sure about the colours I used, probably because I rarely use blue or red, so it's a bit out of my comfort zone. Going to try it in a few more colours and see which I like best. Image stamped on Marl paper, and layered, painted in with watercolour brush, using ink from Tombows as paint. Lots of glitter on here, but it doesn't show well! lol Off to stamp some more!!

More Cute Cards!

OMGOSH! I have no idea what has come over me! What is it about these cute stamps that makes me want them?? LOL...I was in New Glasgow teaching a class yesterday, then of course had to go shopping afterwards, and most of the stamps I picked out were Amuse. I did get some clear stamps from Autumn Leaves (Swirls) and one Noel postage stamp. Got a ton of papers, and some of the StazOn Opaque inks, that I have yet to try. Then I bought one of the scalloped punches, that I swore I would never buy! Well, pretty much said that about cutesy stamps as well, and look at me now? I think the appeal of making some fast cards intrigued me, but honestly, I can not make a fast card for the life of me! I tried just stamping on the paper, then just one layer, but no, I have to do more layers...then I have to add background papers, and some kind of ribbon....needless to say, they are not fast cards! Why can't I be one of those people that can just slap a card together in no time?? LOL But that's ok, I know some of my friends would rather get one of these cards than one of the more artsy or vintage ones!

Anyway, excuse my blabbing tonight....think I have been alone to long! LOL...I am now having a one way conversation with my computer! LOL....Here are a couple of the cards I did today. My scanner leaves lines on white or light colours, but in person it's just white bazzill paper. One day I really will learn how to use my camera and be able to post better pics! lol

I am going to make some vintage Christmas cards tomorrow, so hope to have more to post then!

Got Mistletoe?

I just made this card for a friend and am going to give it to her tomorrow, so I think I am safe in putting it up here tonight! Stamps are from Paper Salon. I don't normally do really cutesy cards, but this I can't seem to resist! lol...There is actually some glitter in the center of the snowflakes, and glitter pen around all the edges, but you can't see that in the scan. The card has a tiara on it cause we all call my friend Princess! LOL Anyway, just wanted to share a cute card with you all!

I've Been Tagged!

I have been tagged! lol...Thanks Audrey, now I get to share all my weirdness with you all! LOL..scary!

I am supposed to tell 6 weird things about myself, and tag 6 people as well. So some of my weird things are:

1. I get lost in parking lots, and no matter how hard I try to find my car afterwards, I never actually find it right away, it's always after panicking for awhile and searching! I always try to leave in the same door I came out of, but I still can't find my car. It's a panic thing for me, my heart starts racing as soon as I know it's time to go! So if you ever see me wondering aimlessly around the parking lot, I am not casing cars....lol...just looking for my own!

2. If I am driving anywhere out of the city limits, I have to have a FULL tank of gas? Even if it's just 20 minutes away! lol I just always think, oh no, what if I break down and it's cold, I need the heat, or what if I get lost (which I do all the time), then I will need all that gas! lol

3. I snore. Nope, not just a cute little sigh in and out, full out HONKING snore! My husband tells me I belong in hunt camp with the guys, he says I would win any snoring contest with any man hands down! lol...When my first son was born, I was in a ward with 3 other ladies, and the nurses kept coming in and waking me up every 20-30 minutes, telling me I was snoring to loud and the other ladies couldn't sleep! LOL....I had my own room the next day, and when they saw me coming in with my second pregnancy, they gave me my own room right away! lol...I am laughing saying this, but it's awfully embarassing actually. I don't like sleeping anywhere but home because of this.

4. Every morning for breakfast I have to have my Bran Flakes, skim milk, and splenda. It doesn't matter what's offered to me, I just want my Bran Flakes! LOL I get downright cranky if I don't have them too! LOL Kinda like others drink coffee...and don't get their fix in the morning!

5. I can't create in a messy space. I always have to clean it up right after I am finished. It's like it clutters my creativity? Or perhaps I am just anal retentive? lol....you pick..lol (be nice Holly..lol)

6. Clowns SCARE me! People dressed as clowns, clown dolls, they all really creep me out!

Allegro

I just did this card up tonight. The focal image is from Stampington, the Holly leaves are from Peddlers Pack, and the verse is from A Stamp in the Hand. I stamped the holly leaves with light brown ancient page, then overstamped with the Mica Magic Antique Gold, but it doesn't show well in the scan. It does have a nice shimmer on it though. Just trying to get a few more Christmas cards done, then will decide on the ones I will make more of....fun fun! I made another card today but can't share it! The person it's going to always reads my blog and I want to surprise her! lol..Will post some more cards tomorrow when they are finished! lol

Christmas Scene

I just bought this stamp today and I just love it! It's from Peddlers Pack. I stamped and embossed with black, then did a wash over it with the Twinkling H2O's. I then added stickles so it sparkles where there is supposed to be snow or frost. I think this is going to be one of my Christmas cards to give out this year. I wasn't sure about the pink ribbon, but it does match the background, so I picked up some purple ribbon to go with the purple c/s instead of the background. You can click on the card to see it bigger. It's all on a black card, but you can't tell because of the blackground of my blog! lol TFL Ladies!! And thank you for leaving comments! You all make me smile!!!!! :)

Elegant Christmas Card Swap

This is the card I made for an Elegant Christmas Card swap. This scan doesn't give the true look of the card, as the medallion and word Peace show up alot more in person. Photostamp is from The Stampsmith, I just love Estelles stamps!!! I find it so hard to get a good scan of the photostamps though, and my picture taking is awful! lol...So this is as good as it gets! lol

More Christmas Cards

Morning! lol

Here are a couple more Christmas cards that I have done in the past little while. I tried to take pics cause they are 3d, and you lose that in scans, but I have to say, I really need to learn how to use my camera properly! lol....So, back to scanning! lol..my scanner leaves shadows on white, so excuse the lines!...you will get the general idea!

I taught a class yesterday, and it was awesome! The ladies cards all turned out so beautifully, they seemed very happy with them, and they all seemed to have fun! I love it when a class goes smoothly! After class, I had to go shopping, and came home with some great new goodies! I am going to play all day today! lol

Have you all seen the papers from Cosmo Cricket? Well, if you haven't, check them out! I just love the "WANTED" line! I picked up the collection yesterday, and some extras that I know I will use alot.

I'm back!

Hi Everyone!

I am finally back I think! lol....we have gotten all moved, everything is hooked up, and my stamping room is awesome! Lots of light, and much more room! Yesterday a g/f came over and we spent the afternoon stamping! I have been making cards for classes I am teaching in New Glasgow, but I made one card yesterday just because! lol....The fairy stamp is from The Stamping Ground, sentiment from Stampers Anonymous. I stamped her on glossy, then used phototwin marker with watercolor paint brush to paint her in. I don't know why I cut it oval, I wish I hadn't, but I guess it turned out alright? Anyway, I just wanted to have something to share with you all! Lol...I have neglected my blog for a couple weeks, and want to get back into the swing of things!
